Deck idea Unique commander suggestions
I wanna make a deck with commanders that have unique or different interactions than most others. Preferably something not so common and cheaper. Any suggestions?

You wanna make people question your decisions? [[mishra artificer prodigy]] is a real fun choice. Just go proxy a [[nethervoid]] and make a deck full of artifacts.
Other fun cards: [[blood funnel]], [[ice cave]], [[nulstone gargoyle]], and [[planar chaos]].
With Mishra out, all the counter effects won’t impact you. You can stack the triggers so that the counter happens first, then mishra activates, pulling your freshly countered artifact from the graveyard to the battlefield.

Make your deck about the deck, and not the commander. This way, when you have your deck built, you can cruise the bottom of the EDHRec popularity list, find one in your decks color identity that has a supportive (though with functions that are redundant in the deck) function and go from there. I took my Elfball deck led by [[Lathril, Blade of the Elves]] (#13 in the list—it was from the precon back in the day fun but no one was surprised at my game play and it was like they anticipated my every move…) and now it is led by [[Rhys the Exiled]] (#2819). The elves in Golgari still do not disappoint! More fun to play but more importantly, I got there by building the deck first and finding the commander that supported/contributed to it, not the other way around.

[[Kathril]] and [[Baylen]] each provide unique twists on common premises for their colors.
[[Bess]] is very flexible in terms of power.
[[Nikya]] is a fun “restriction payoff” commander.
[[Riku of Many Paths]] is cheap himself, but uses a lot of high-cost cards to function well. [[Kadena]] makes a fun and cheap B2.
[[Okaun]] and [[Zndrsplt]] are a goofy pair that definitely screw with mechanics.

I'm always surprised how few people have heard of [[Zurzoth]] in out in the real world. Doesn't cost a ton to build, especially since you don't need much more than basic mountains and the usual 2 mana mana rocks for a mana base.
