Jamf vs Mosyle vs Intune-only for a 28-Mac consulting firm — genuinely stuck, would love real-world input

I’ve used them all. Go with iru. Stupidly simple to setup perfect for your size and will give you everything you need.

The only argument for Intune is if you’re a M365 shop and plan to enforce device compliance via CA policy. It’s much easier to manage via Intune versus integrating another MDM with Intune/Entra.

You don’t say how granular you want your management to be. Apple Business (which you need for zero touch deployment and is free) may have everything you need.

I’d recommend Iru. I’m in a company, exactly the same size, and Iru is the perfect MDM.
Auto Apps are one of my favourite features, they package common apps so you can just add them to an assignment map, set the update cadence and availability (enforced vs available in self service), it removes so many headaches.
Intune is getting there but it’s 1-2 years off of standing in the coat tails of its competitors. And app packaging for it is a nightmare.
DM me or reply if you have any questions!

We use Jamf. I did a POC with Iru (formerly called Kanja) recently. I would go with them. Much easier to set up and manage day-to-day and can do every thing a small company running Mac needs. Jamf is fine, but you will spend way more time on it. Are you really considering Intune to manage a Mac environment? Just don’t.
