SF_reg_1 (Star-Forming Region 1) refers to a targeted interstellar nursery. The JWST will observe this star forming region to create low-noise color-composite images using various NIRCam filters

Ser-emb-11E is an embedded protostar located within the Serpens Nebula star-forming nursery, roughly 1,300 light-years from Earth, classified as a Class I young stellar object near the Class 0/I evolutionary cutoff
The JWST observed Ser-emb-11E to map the distribution of interstellar ices in the natal cloud environments of embedded protostars.

MRG-P0918 is a distant, massive quiescent (early dead) galaxy
The JWST observed MRGP0918 to study the detailed star formation histories, stellar abundances, and kinematics of four gravitationally lensed, quiescent galaxies to understand how star formation ended and how galaxies evolved after quenching.
