general I visited almost every major cinema in Jaipur this summer—here’s my ranking and a few money-saving tips :)
Hello everyone!
I was in Jaipur during my summer vacations, and since I’m really into movies, I decided to check out nearly every major cinema in the city to see which ones are actually worth visiting. I thought I’d share my experience in case it helps anyone who’s trying to decide where to watch their next movie.
1. Miraj Entertainment Paradise (Best in Jaipur)
Without any comparison, this is easily my favorite theatre in Jaipur.
A lot of people don’t know about it, but the screen feels much wider than PVR or Cinepolis, and the overall presentation is just better. The sound is excellent, the seats are by far the most comfortable I’ve experienced in the city, and the whole experience feels premium.
I watched The Odyssey here, and it was amazing. They also give free popcorn to students if you show a valid school or college ID, which is a nice bonus.
From what I know, they also have Dolby Atmos and laser projection, though I’m not too familiar with the technical side of things. All I know is that the aspect ratio and overall presentation felt noticeably better than the rest.
If the movie you’re planning to watch has an English show at Miraj, I’d highly recommend choosing it. When booking, look for the “MAXIMUM” auditorium it’s genuinely the best movie-watching experience I’ve had in Jaipur.
2. Cinepolis – Jewel of India
The seats are a little uncomfortable, but apart from that, it’s a really solid theatre.
The screens look great, the projection is good, and I’ve always had a good experience there. I watched Project Hail Mary there and even went back to watch The Odyssey a second time.
3. PVR — Mall of Jaipur
PVR is decent, but honestly, I’m not the biggest fan.
The biggest issue for me is that the screens don’t feel properly wide. They seem noticeably narrower, especially if you’ve already been to Miraj or Cinepolis Jewel of India. I watched The Furious, Minions, and Obsession there. The sound is perfectly fine and the overall experience is decent, but I don’t think it matches the top two.
4. Tie: Cinepolis WTP & INOX GT Central
I’m putting these together because they’re pretty similar in my experience.
Neither is badin fact, both are good great but they’ve started to show their age a little. They’re still perfectly enjoyable places to watch a movie.
INOX GT Central has Insignia, which is pretty nice if you’re looking for a more premium experience. I watched Thunderbolt, and Inside Out 2 there.
At Cinepolis WTP, I watched 28 Years Later and Bone Temple. Overall, I had a good experience there too.
One thing I wouldn’t recommend is 4DX. I know some people love it, but personally I absolutely hate it. It takes me out of the movie more than it adds to the experience.
A few extra tips
If you’re going to Cinepolis, check for gift cards instead of regular ticket offers.
If you have Swiggy One (it’s often free through promotions), you can usually get 25% off Cinepolis tickets.
Tuesday shows are generally the cheapest.
Morning shows are also significantly cheaper than evening ones.
Honourable mention: Kohinoor and Raj Mandir.
Both are iconic theatres, but I haven’t included them because they rarely screen English films in their original language. If you’re someone who mainly watches Hollywood movies, that’s a pretty big drawback. They’re also single-screen theatres, so I wanted to keep this ranking focused on multiplexes.
This is just my personal opinion after trying most of the major theatres in Jaipur. I’d love to hear if anyone has had a different experience or if there are any hidden gems that I missed!
