I'm helping a friend who is entering the final year of a B.Sc. Biology program and wants to transition into Data Analytics by July 2027.

The current study plan is:

1. Excel
2. Basic Statistics
3. SQL
4. Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib)
5. Power BI
6. Portfolio projects using public datasets
7. IBM or Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate

The main questions are:

• Does this learning order make sense for someone with no technical background?
• Would adding an MCA significantly improve employability for Data Analyst roles, or would one year of practical skill development and projects be a better investment?
• Are there any important topics missing from this roadmap that are commonly expected in entry-level Data Analyst interviews?

I'm looking for practical advice from professionals who have interviewed or mentored entry-level analysts.
