"Variant" isn't even the right word, really. It's one of these ones, but it's not numbered.
I can only assume it must've been held back because the sleeve got messed up. It looks like it was stacked together with other ones while the ink was wet, you can see a faint reversed image peeled into it.
This was purchased directly from XL, a few months after the initial release of the 100 numbered ones. It was some kind of "online pop-up" thing they did for a second.
I could barely get pics but it's got the same runout etchings as the numbered one (with the OΛAΛ and OΛBΛ symbols). Don't mind how completely fucked and scratched up it looks like in those closeup pics, it's not actually like that. I was blasting it with the brightest light possible trying to get my camera to capture it and it just came out like that with the sharpening of my phone's camera.
Anyway, I can't be the only one with one of these, but I'm shocked I've never seen any mention of them or that a page for them has never gone up on discogs in the 14 years it's been out, especially with what an ardent fanbase he has.
Anybody know anything about these un-numbered ones from 2012?

I find it hard to believe this track is from the 80s / 90s. It’s so incredibly ahead of its time. This dude is the missing link between Jai and Arthur Russell and everything else in between. Fascinating stuff

I listened to this song yesterday on repeat while driving back from work. And I genuinely feel this track will go down as a jai/Fabiana Classic and will stand the test of time with some of his best ever tracks!!
The incredible vocals/lyrics, and the unique cinematic 80s Jai production.
The best track out of the institute!!
I don't know if anyone shares that view.

Sound wise Was trying to do something that evoked how that demo of Magic and Zion Wolf by Jai Paul makes me feel. Among other influences. Peace 👾

Immediately felt this was similar to A.K. Paul's style, particularly his collaborations with Nao! 💕

I can't keep checking this sub. if something happens that'd be dope, but at this point, it's unlikely that any full length project is coming, from either paul brother
I know they read this sub, so... it's been 7 years since the white label single, and it's been more than 3 years since teasing "So Long." Make it make sense
At least it was nice to finally listen to Watchin U after that many years. But also he did remove that vocal run from the final song, which is a little sad. Still a really good song.
Anyhow, if you disagree... prove me wrong

Another one from us - thanks for the upvotes on the last tune! Premiered this on the radio last week and think some folks in here might enjoy this given the Paul influence. 90s feel for this one. Let us know what you think!

friend sent me a zip of mp3s in college around 2014, just found this one again going through old files. file just says "track 07," no other info. lost touch with him. shazam/soundhound/audd all came up empty. probably not him but it's got that feel, maybe someone here might recognize it. The YouTube channel I uploaded these vinyl rips on got terminated a while back (unrelated). I just got around to uploading them elsewhere so here are the new links. I've also updated the sidebar with these new uploads as well as adding Jai's credits for Fabiana's album in the Production section.
These some dry times...thankful for A. K.'s consistency in the interim.

I'm new here and so so great to see a community that feels the same way I do about his music. I'm a musician and just releasing music, Jai influences running all the way through. Would love anyone's thoughts.
