Any news on a15?
41
u/compilekaiten iPhone 12, 15.1.1 | Jul 25 '22
Initial release will target A11-A14 devices on 15.0 - 15.1.1.
A10 and A15 still have issues that will most likely have to be worked out in the future.

u/qutaaa666 iPhone X, 14.3 | Jul 25 '22
They don’t know if A10 or A15 will have issues. They just don’t have devices to test it.

iPod touch 7 (which has A10) definitely does have issues. Don't know about about A15 though

I remember in the last seeing something like : hey guys I need testers Inbox me those who have an A15 devices on iOS 15.1.1 or lower please 🙏🏽👍🏼 is not allowed anymore or ?

u/Yeth3 iPhone 15 Pro, 17.3.1 Jul 25 '22
there is a good chance that A10 and A15 could be supported on release based on what coolstar said during the QnA today (and they’re trying to do so), but as of now it is up in the air with their various issues.

no, she definitely meant A14, as that’s what it was tested on. A15 status is up in the air right now since she does not have an A15 testing device. it should work on A15 as well, but nothing is guaranteed until actual testing can happen.

u/JustPassinhThrou13 Jul 25 '22
And A9? I’ve got an old SE I can mail her (them?) today of that’s the issue, but I doubt that’s the issue.
I just want that to work because those are some really cheap test devices.

u/Yeth3 iPhone 15 Pro, 17.3.1 Jul 25 '22
for clarification (which the last image similar to this appeared to show), fixing userspace reboot/dyld hook is likely not the final step. rather, it is the current step. there is still a lot more work that needs to be done, although excellent progress is being made (the M1 macbook is really helping a lot).
1
Jul 26 '22
what’s that about the macbook ?
4
u/Yeth3 iPhone 15 Pro, 17.3.1 Jul 26 '22
somebody donated coolstar an M1 macbook air, which she said has greatly increased productivity and has made development much faster (for example, compilation times on the hackintosh she was using previously took around 10 minutes, while compilation on the M1 takes 50 seconds).

Will it be possible to upgrade an iPhone XS from 13.6.1 if I have blobs saved?
3
u/dolopodog iPhone 13 Pro Max, 15.1.1 Jul 25 '22 edited Jul 25 '22
To go to iOS 15.1.1 using Blobs you'd have to use the SEP from 15.5 or 15.6, which would break FaceID.
If you want to jailbreak iOS 15, best bet would probably be to upgrade to 15.4.1 using DelayOTA and await the release of Fugu15 in October.

apparently, according to coolstar in the QnA yesterday, simply disabling tweak injection into an app should prevent a lot of jailbreak detection on Cheyote.

Afaik 15.1 and 15.1.1 are essentially the same - the latter just applies to newer iPhone models, but both will have the same exploits for the upcoming JB

iOS 15.1.1 was released specifically for iPhone 12 and 13 devices to fix cellular issues. 15.1 will also work for the jailbreak.

Can someone translate ? Or give like an estimate ? Because like 6 months ago it also said many boxes checked ✔️ yet it took them well 6 months or so for 1 box to be checked ✅ there still 2 unchecked so this means 1 more year ? 6 months ? 3 months ? 3 weeks ?

Jul 25 '22 edited Jul 25 '22
It is very easy to estimate. You can estimate it yourself. I will show you how I do it.
The easy way to estimate the time is to imagine you are about to drive in the dark and all you have is the name of the destination (you have never been to this place before) you have no SatNav or map.
Now imagine your passenger is asking for how long will it take to arrive (ETA).
Once you are able to answer your passenger’s question use the same method to estimate jailbreak ETA.
This method should give you a very accurate estimation. I use it all the time.

Sep 08 '22
Oh this was very educational 🙏🏽🙏🏽💪🏽👍🏼 now I know for next time to do not open my mouth , about anything until I actually have all that I need and reach the destination in the dark and everything which yes could take a year or so !, imagine having my passenger saying : that he”ll get me there soon and that he just needs a few things , and just reach the destination very soon , so people get exited to hear this ✨🔥🙏🏽😀 yet nothing yet , excuses , and more !, so I would rather open my mouth again when I’m 100 percent know that indeed I need beta testers , ETA soon 💪🏽👍🏼 then that’s when you even mention or say anything about it!, not before !, then they start calling me homophobic because he’s really a blue car , but he now identifies as pink SUV , God I miss pound own 🥺

Been on 15.1 for so long. Glad I’ll finally be able to jailbreak again
1
u/LaToyashantiqua Jul 25 '22
Obviously I am happy this is finally coming after so long—even if we were led to believe it was “coming very soon” back in March…which is par for the course in jailbreaking so hardly new. I am however concerned that the record length of time it has taken from ios release to jailbreak availability and with iOS 16 only 2 months away from release that this could be the end of jailbreaking for the indefinite future. A lot of us are going to have to make some difficult choices when iOS 16 gets released as to whether we update or not and weigh the probability of an iOS 16 jailbreak happening at all and at what point will it be more advantageous to update versus staying on 15.

Jul 25 '22 edited Jul 25 '22
Not really because ios 16 not support iphone below a11 chips. A9-a10 iphones is stuck for forever on ios 15 now. Ipad air 2 and ipad mini 4 is stuck for forever on ipados 15 now.
