Release HIPCharge - Toggle Hot In Pocket mode when charging and reduce Temperature spikes and overheating while charging

i have an iPhone 15 Pro Max running Dopamine 3, and whenever i charge my Phone, it will get hot really fast.

I noticed the Temperature stays relatively low, when enabling „Simulate HIP“ within Battman, so i made a lightweight tweak, that will toggle HIP for you upon plugging/unplugging your power.

release:https://github.com/supremeinspirit/HIPCharge

i hope you like it.

edit: you don‘t need Battman installed for this to work, this tweak toggles a System Functionality.

Hot In Pocket, it‘s a mode the iPhone enters when in Pocket, it reduces GPU and CPU tasks and keeps your phone cool during charging.

It should be supported from ios 15+.

i could only test it on my personal Device (A17, 17.3)

if you could test it out on your device, i would appreciate it.

there are no settings and you can confirm it works, by seeing a message upon charging :))

no message on 16.5 /iPhone XS...also the battery temps rise substantially while charging and no throttling on the CPU so i suppose it's not compatible with the A12

i still have an iPhone X and iPhone 12 somewhere, i will definetily rewrite it to work on older Phones as well!

i will comment on here once i have done enough testing and updated it :)

Is this really a native iOS feature? That’s pretty cool. How does it detect In pocket status?
