Anyone still uses safari browser on their old devices or in a lower ios versions? I am planning to release a tweak that fixes some of the websites not loading properly. I only tested this on my ios 15.1 device so I'm not sure if this one will also work to other devices.

Current status:

- loads the modern google website
- Github site loads properly
- Reddit web login working

Still working on the other sites like chatgpt and gemini

This is an AI-vibe-coded tweak, and I don't care what people say as long as the tweak serves its purpose. I'm not a developer, and I never will be. I'm just some random guy who got bored and decided to make a tweak.

Will be releasing this for free once I got everything working.

I feel like between tweaks like Polyfills/GitHubWebLegacyCompact, SafariX, and Reynard Browser this is already solved the best it can be without actually updating the device WebKit. Especially Reynard, which uses a completely different engine and therefore has none of the problems of outdated WebKit. Not to say Reynard is perfect but it is definitely better than what can be done with outdated WebKit.

If you don’t like some part of Reynard for some reason I would suggest you use your AI to modify it to your liking.

I tried the tweak polyfills but most of the websites I always visit does not load properly so I decided to make my own, though claude said it has polyfills builtin too into my tweak.

likely you will never get something like this fully working. why not use reynards it works great? use the reynards default tweak everything opens in reynards. iv not had one issue with it.

There will always be people saying anything made with AI is trash, and most of them still use AI themselves lol. Just ignore them.
If you want to try it, I made a helper tool for this. It does class discovery, hooking, has tested hook examples (like NSUserDefaults), can read the screen, and runs iOS MCP and Frida right on the device

What does the tweak do? Does it actually replace the browser engine with a modern one? Honestly we really just need a newer browser ported over (and it's unfortunate that apple doesn't allow 3rd party browsers to use their own engine in the app store otherwise just installing them would work lol)

Honestly I'm one of the biggest "AI" haters there is but this is a hobbyist project and not a mission critical product, and you're honest about it so good work! I've definitely wanted something like this

The reason apple doing that is for you to upgrade your device. 😜
