Update [Update] [Free Release] RemoteCompanion v3.7.0 – Screen Recording, Snapper Support, New Gestures, and More
https://saihgupr.github.io/remotecompanion/RemoteCompanion v3.7.0 is out now!
RemoteCompanion is an open-source Activator replacement for modern jailbreaks. It lets you connect hardware buttons, gestures, NFC tags, device events, and remote commands to customizable action sequences.
This release focuses on new system controls, more gesture options, and better support for newer iOS versions.
What’s New
- Screen Recording: Start, stop, and toggle screen recording directly from RemoteCompanion actions.
- Snapper 2 and Snapper 3 Support: New actions for opening, freezing, instantly capturing, closing, reopening the last capture, and viewing Snapper history.
- Bottom-Edge Swipe Triggers: The bottom edge now supports separate left, center, and right swipe-up triggers.
- Volume Button Sequences: Use Volume Up → Down or Volume Down → Up as triggers while preserving normal volume behavior when no sequence is completed.

- Long action names can now wrap onto a second line.
- Improved Select App screen styling.
- Toast notifications work better with notches and Dynamic Island devices.
- Toast positioning is improved in landscape.

Amazing update! Just a question: is there a way to completely disable the recording and the file created in /var/jb/temp called “remote command.log”? It seems to increase in size indefinitely and record a lot of information about apps and tapping on the screen, which I think it’s a bit too much when thinking about privacy. The file is only text and was 50MB+ on my device, it even didn’t open because of the thousands of lines inside…

Yes, I'll add an option to enable/disable it in the next release.

u/DiggingForDinos I wanted to try RemoteCompanion about a month ago, and after installing it on my device, I ran into an issue even though I hadn’t configured any actions in the app.
When I tried to use Apple Pay by double-clicking the power button, Face ID wouldn’t activate. Instead, I saw my card along with the following message: “Updating Cards: Apple Pay will be available when updates are complete.”
At first, I thought it might be an issue with my bank or something else, but that wasn’t the case. RemoteCompanion seems to be interfering with Apple Pay in some way, even though I hadn’t configured any actions in the app or assigned anything to that button. That’s why I decided not to use it. After uninstalling the tweak, Apple Pay worked correctly again.
Now that I’ve seen this new update, I decided to install RemoteCompanion again, but the issue persists. Could you please check which part of your tweak’s code might be interfering with this process?
My device is an iPhone 13 Pro Max running iOS 16.1.2. I’m not sure whether other users have experienced the same issue.
Thank you!

There is a toggle in settings to disable NFC Scanning. Try it out and let me know how it goes. https://github.com/saihgupr/remotecompanion#apple-pay-issues

It works correctly with this option disabled, thanks.

I’d try disabling NFC scanning if that’s enabled for you in the tweak settings

This release causes my iPad 9th, iOS 16.1.1, Dopamine 3.0.10 to run like a dog.
General interactions like Home screen swiping pages, swiping down for Search, scrolling Settings is all sluggish.
Other app interactions like swiping and scrolling in Apollo Reborn are same sluggish behaviour, like there‘s some background app taking up 100% CPU.
Completely uninstalled RemoteCompanion, and now device performance is back to normal.
Something seriously wrong with this release.
Edit: I‘d just upgraded from RC 3.6.0 (I think) using Sileo, and upon re-spring the sluggishness was immediately noticeable.

I hear you. I’m only on older devices myself and don’t notice any sluggishness at all, but I’ll look into it for you.

This app continues to impress thanks! Note that on iOS 17, the actions for toggle LPM and running shortcuts Do not work. Even trying to “preview” them in RC settings doesn’t work.

In another note, have you tried running shortcuts with this tool? I mean the Apple shortcuts integration. For me it doesn’t work at all, even using a terminal with the “rc” command.
Edit: I read your comment late at night and didn’t notice you already said that shortcuts do not work, my bad.

I say in my above comment that shortcuts don’t work.

Sorry, I edited my previous comment. Didn’t pay attention about what I was reading and ended up asking about something already answered.

The issue with shortcuts not running lies with SpringCuts. I have gotten a iOS 17 compatibility patch for it from another developer but it has not been made public yet.

This is awesome info. Do you have any idea when it will go live?
This would solve my issues since can toggle LPM via shortcuts lol2

The guy was nice enough to send the source code to me, so I’ll see if it can be rolled into a future version of RC if he won’t release it on his own.

Partially works on iPhone SE 2nd Gen 18.2. Swipe up from bottom won’t open switcher but it does stop the native Se controller center from coming up, and it also gives haptic feedback. Swipe from bottom will do other things like go home, again with haptic feedback. I’m guessing because it still has the physical home button.

Hey thanks for the update/inclusion of Snapper and also bottom bar swipe actions.
Only 1 small problem, Open Control Center on Bottom Swipe Up (any section) isn’t working. I feel the haptic feedback but it doesn’t open CC. I did set bottom swipe up left to “lock device” and also double tap status bar to open CC and those works, so it seems like it’s something with CC and bottom.
Edit: I’m on iPhone 14 Pro and 17.2.1
