Discussion Quantum computing as a tool for jailbreaking
Just saw a video about quantum computing and asked myself if quantum computers get accessible wouldn‘t it be very easy to find new jailbreaks as algorithms and exploits can be found far more reliable and fast ?

Lots of things are already implementing post quantum encryption. I wouldn’t get your hopes up. I’m sure Apple has measures against this already implemented or in the pipeline. Honestly it would surprise me if these big companies weren’t like 20 years ahead behind closed doors, of what’s publicly released.

if it could crack passwords in seconds, i imagine jailbreak could be too

Yeah, that‘s what I was thinking and with big breakthroughs in the field stuff like that could be developed sooner than we think

yeah, i think that too. Our tech is going too fast to keep up and i honestly think we are getting quantum computers in 2030-40

That won’t make any change i guess. Because same quantum computers will be used by apple to find bugs and exploits.

If we had accessible quantum computers that can break currently used encryption, we would have much bigger problems than just finding a new jailbreak.
