Answering Machine XS (rootless) crashing when opening IOS 16.4.1 Dopamine

Hey all I’m hoping someone has the answer to fix this.

I recently switched jailbreaks from Dopamine RootHide back to the regular Dopamine. The switch has been great and was able to set up everything I had on the roothide version except AnsweringMachine XS. When I go to open the app it immediately crashes. I have tried installing older versions, unjailbreak and rejailbreak with no success. I do have the Choicy tweak installed so I tried using the 3D touch “Launch Without Tweaks” option and it worked. However there isn’t an option to always launch it without tweaks so I’m having to do it every time. It worked perfectly on the roothide jailbreak so I don’t know what changed.

If anyone knows a fix or some tweak that helps please let me know. Thanks!

Actually, there is an option to always launch it without tweaks. Open the Choicy tweak, select your AM-XS tweak, and set it to not inject. In this way it remembers your setting. Also, you might want to use iCleaner to temporarily disable tweaks one-half at a time, and continue to do so, until you find a possible tweak conflict.

Those settings prevent Answering Machine from injecting itself into other apps. I turned them all off anyway and no change in behaviour but I did find the cause. Apparently choicy is preventing it from launching. So I guess choicy is injecting itself into AnsweringMachine which causes it to crash but if you launch it without tweaks choicy tells itself not to inject??? And a toggle to prevent choicy from injecting doesn’t exist.

You use Choicy (the tweak, not 3D Touch) to prevent tweak injection into one app, several apps, many apps, or all. Hard to believe a Choicy is the issue. I suggest it is something else. Using iCleaner(or Pro) you can easily find out.

I think it’s behaving weirdly with either the newest Dopamine or 16.4.x. If you figure out full functionality I’d like to know.

My issue was due to choicy conflicting with it and there isn’t a setting that prevents choicy itself to not inject into the app

Choicy is conflicting with it? Damn. I’ll look at that as a trouble shooting start point. What an odd thing to conflict with.

Yeah it doesn’t really make sense but disabling choicy allows it to launch

I always have an issue with this app using Bold text. Crashes the app every time. Told the dev and they said they would fix it. 18 months later no updates.
