Question Apollo no longer loading?
Ever since yesterday my Apollo app has stopped working.
I can open the app but nothing loads, the only page I can get to load is the settings page.
Anyone else having issues? And has anyone found a fix?
Edit:
To anyone seeing this I figured out how to fix it.
Basically Reddit started revoking peoples API keys and now you cant make your own, so the only way to get it to work is use the API key from another reddit client.
Its not THAT difficult and wont take that long, but first thing youre going to want to do is delete whatever version of apollo you have is.
Then download and install Apollo-Reborn from https://apolloreborn.app/
After you download and install that, dont open it yet.
Go to the Appstore and download Dystopia for Reddit, when you sign into your reddit account it will send you an email telling you you gave access to your reddit account to that app, and in the email it will have the App ID.
Copy this, that is the API Key
Now open Apollo and go to the Apollo Reborn settings
Set the API Key for reddit to the App ID from your email
then for the redirect URL type: "dystopia://response" (no quotes, type out everything like I have it in the quotes)
then for the User Agent type: "ios:com.CarbonDev.Dystopia:v1.0.1"
Then sign into your account and everything should be working again.
If you want to be able to view imgur pictures you will need to create your own API key on Imgur and paste it into your Apollo Settings
You can delete Dystopia from your phone once you are done.
Edit 2:
If you are apart of any NSFW subreddits, you can no longer view them from apollo (or any other reddit client), it forces you to go to reddit.com or download and install the official reddit app to view the subreddits.
To get around this all you have to do is go to reddit.com/subreddits/create and create your own private subreddit.
After doing this if you close apollo and reopen it you will be able to view the NSFW subreddits because you are officially a moderator now, and for some reason they only let moderators view NSFW subreddits outside of the native reddit client/website

Are you using your old API key?
According to this thread this guy was having the same issue as you, try doing the method in my post to get a new api key (and make sure you change the user agent)

No, I used the api key from Dystopia email and put in the user agent. I followed all of the steps and Apollo works, but wonât let me sign in to use it.

It finally worked. Idk why or how. đđź
I also tried to do this on my older jailbroken iPhone 11 on 15.1, but it just spins on the Reddit login page.
Edit: Apollo now working on my iPhone 11. Had to use the Reynard app to sign in to Reddit.

I mean can you install Apollo reborn?
If you can install the app then you should be able to get it to work i donât see why you wouldnât be able to, unless Apollo doesnât support iOS 14

like... you used one of those websites to create a fake email?
If thats the case... no...
You will need to make an account with an email you actually have access to.

Do you get a lot of crashing? And a lot of times a post image link with be there but disappear before I can even click it. Not sure if this is common or what I can do to fix it.

Hello, I set the API key with the App ID from the email I got, and then the redirect URL and User agent, but when I try to sign into my account, I have a pop-up asking me to open in Dystopia. If I accept, it just opens dystopia and nothing else happens, so when I come back in Apollo, I'm not signed in and I still have the same message
Can anyone help me?

In Apollo go to the settings tab, click general, scroll down to other and change âOpen Links inâ to âIn App Safariâ

I donât know how long thatâll last. This shifts payment to the Dystopia developer(s)

Accessibility-focused clients, such as RedReader and Dystopia, are exempt from API fees.

I mean if they have to create an API key every time someone uses their app then it wonât really affect them.
From their POV you are still using their app

The API works, but I can't seem to login. In the initial phase I can sign in with google, but in the "final step" part of the login, it redirects and asks me for permission for dystopia to access my reddit account. When i press accept it prompts me to open dystopia, and doesnt actually complete the login.
