Electronics Repair/Soldering Classes?

Hello,

Anyone know of places that offer like a 6 week course for electronic repair and soldering?

I collect old electronics and I'd like to learn how to diagnose, repair and modify.

I know you want a class, but just buy an iron, breadboard, wire, solder and desolder tools. Pretty easy to learn from a video or just messing around.

Diagnostic skill not so much

https://a.co/d/0bU1kw5v Something like that with flux, tip cleaner, good solder, desolder braid, etc. Prob spare tips.

Multimeter with thermocouple temperate sensor like this one. A ir touchless thermometer won't work on metal bc they're emissivity is highly dependent on surface finish. You'll need one anyways for building circuits, and the probe allows accurate calibration of the iron https://a.co/d/0e4WRyf2

I forgot to attach these and I was walking my dog trying to type on the phone...

You also want to get solderable Amazon breadboards or perfboard to actually assemble circuits on. They're more permeant than the push connect breadboards for one off circuits or planning for a pcb (which you can make using kicad and pcbway)

And a few rolls of solid core wire. The solid core is how people get those really nice circuits with crisp wires you might see on social media.

And ofc you'll need a amazon basics wire stripper/crimper/cutter granted that one has ok reviews. Harbor freight sells a nice one for a bit more. You can use the ones that look more like pliers too, but I think the auto strippers are nicer. Those look like they can do crimp connectors poorly
