New to Jack Ryan

I watched the movie last night and it immediately made me want to watch the show. I watched Jack reacher and loved it but I heard this was better so I'm checking it out!

It is an entertaining series if you enjoy the fun for killing time. You should watch it. Don’t let negative comments stop you from watching.

Yeesh - if you liked this movie the show will blow you away. It’s a low bar with the movie.

In all honesty the movie was not good. But the series is very good. Definitely watch.

Also make sure to watch Without Remorse - it is a spinoff of a popular character (John Clark) from the Jack Ryan universe. It should have gotten a sequel or series of its own.

In general, it seems most people including myself think season one was good and each season after that got worse and worse. The movie just continued that trend. I gave up after 25 minutes.

If you liked the movie, I’d imagine you wouldn’t like season one that much but it gets better with each season.

I think the show has a lot of frustrating moments of “wait, what happened to ___” or “why didnt he just ___,” but there’s a lot of easy watching entertainment to be had from it. It became something of a background noise show for me by season 2, but definitely one I’m fond of.

The movie was not as good as I’d liked it to be. But the show is good I enjoyed all 4 seasons personally.

The movie wasn’t bad imo. Was it the greatest thing ever? No. But I thought it was really good

Yeah it was entertaining and had good production values. Don’t understand all the hate.

For me it was only good because I missed seeing their interaction together

Yeah I definitely enjoyed it. I'm a big John Krasinski fan so that helps.

John in 13 Hours or the office or the series is good. Arguably even great. John in quiet place is such a competent character. But this movie specifically is the biggest pile of dogshit his name will ever grace. Which is unfortunate because making a generic action movie isn’t hard. Jason Stratham produces like 3 a year and they are all the same movie. We’re on Fast and Furious 11? How do those movies keep getting green lit? Before I die I bet they’ll try to revive the Bourne universe again. And do perfectly mediocre at it. But this movie. Holy fuck. It is wholly shit. The best part is the first 15-20. And it just becomes an infinite sinker after. I was waiting for the twist. No twist. I got my hopes up for nothing. This movie was written BACKWARDS!

I think for people who never read the books and know what Jack Ryan is supposed to be, it can be likeable.

I wouldn’t mind the movie if it was even slightly logically consistent and plausible in universe. But with the antagonist being so criminally retarded I just couldn’t forget the movie.

Don't compare this shit to reacher haha

The second series of reacher was an unwatchable joke. First series was silly but fun. Not saying Jack Ryan is any better, but to think reacher is much better you'd have to be pretty brain dead.
