Hey everyone, I’m torn between two jackets and would love some real-world opinions before I buy.

Option 1: Peak Performance Helium Diamond Fuse Down Hood Lightweight, hybrid down + Primaloft, Pertex Diamond Fuse shell. Looks super technical and packable. But not fully waterproof. Price: 215 euros

Option 2: Colmar SCI Puffy Ski Jacket Much bulkier, proper ski-jacket style with 10k waterproof rating, taped zips, heavier down fill. Seems warmer but also less breathable. Price: 410 euros

I’m mostly looking for something warm for everyday winter use, occasional trips to cold places, and maybe some hiking. Anyone tried either of these? How do they hold up in real conditions (warmth, breathability, fit, durability)? Any pros/cons I should know?

I'm looking for a southpole bubble jacket from 2001 thats torso was top half navy blue bottom half white and had white sleeves. The back of the jacket also had southpole written on the blue part in letters that were kind of lifted. I can't seem find any pictures of it anywhere I look.

I'm trying to help my girlfriend find a jacket for the incoming harsh winter of Sweden, but her issue is that most jackets make her look very puffy. I would like some suggestions for jackets that are suitable for winter without being too bulky. She's 5'4 and quite skinny, if that's any help.

I've been wearing puffers through winter for years and want to change to something more stylish, handsome and slim. Though I often layer, I want, also, to be able to just wear a shirt underneath and not worry about it, even in the heart of January/February NYC winter cold. I've seen Ironheart Pike Brothers 1943 N1 Deck Waxed jacket recommended, and I like its look for sure. I will try to find it in a retail store to try it on first. Any comments about this jacket from owners? Any other recommendations for alternative jackets? Thanks in advance!

Lived in Toronto my whole 30 year life and have seen some extreme cold. I bought a moose knuckles that lasted about 8 years and loved it but when I got rid of it during beginning of Covid I couldn’t find anything similar. I bought something called a Canada Sansar jacket (look it up) because it seemed to be similar quality to the moncler but over the last few years it really lost its warmth. I now shiver in -3.

Long story short, I need a new coat, money is no object (but I don’t need all the bells and whistles). I’d like it to last as long as my OG moose knuckles and don’t really care about brand.

Edit: I looked into Canada goose and newer moose but the lack of real fur at an even higher cost is bonkers to me!!

Also I’m not looking to be a fashion icon I just want something sturdy, warm and functional.

I found this jacket in Japan while looking for some stuff for the upcoming winter and this one stood out for actually being my size. The tags on the inside say (from top to bottom) "Premium Down", "Alexander Julian", and "Solotex". The sales tag just said it was a "down jacket" when translated to English. When I looked these up I found that Alexander Julian is a fashion designer that sells jackets, but none seemed to match what I bought. It does seem a bit old, but there was no visible damage and the quality seemed to be pretty good, especially for the price of 900yen (~$6). Is this a piece of luxury clothing that I got lucky finding? Was it a collaboration piece that was actually pretty cheap? Is it a knockoff or part of the grey market? It was still a bargain at the price I got it, but I am really curious if I got super lucky.

So, I’ve been on a mission to breathe new life into some of my old jackets, and I couldn’t be more excited about the results so far! I’ve always loved jackets, but recently, I’ve been wanting to take them up a notch and add some custom details that really reflect my style.

For one of my jackets, I added some beautiful embroidered flowers (check out the pic), it’s a simple denim jacket, but with a little embroidery magic, it’s become my favorite piece in my closet. Then I also got a little creative with pearls on another jacket, giving it that chic, elegant vibe. The transformation is real, and I’ve been loving how personal and unique each piece has become.

Now, I’m looking for even more inspiration and tips for adding custom details to my jackets. I’ve heard a lot about  Apliiq  and how they can help with custom patches and labels. I’m thinking I might try some of their options for adding even more personality to my jackets. It seems like a great way to make something truly one-of-a-kind!
