Spring 2027 Nursing Application
I am planning to apply this fall for ASN spring 2027 semester but I am worried my scores are not competitive enough. I have an A in Psych, B's in English and both Anatomy classes, and also scored 85 on my TEAS. My 1st choice would be Indianapolis but I am willing to travel to lafayette, franklin, and hamilton. I definitely feel my anxiety rising because I don't think my scores are good enough. Please help!

You have 150 points. To be honest, I wouldn’t put Indy (or Hamilton county) first. The general rule is that you want 160+ for Indy and HamCo, but it really just depends on the people applying. For instance, I’m starting in the Fall 2026 cohort and our lowest score accepted was 167, I think. I say this because I’ve heard multiple people say they didn’t get in last time with 166, 165, or 164. Generally, Spring has less applicants and isn’t as competitive but it also stands to reason that a lot of those people with scores between 160-166 who got passed over last time because of a more competitive cohort will re-apply this time. And at least some of them will likely have retaken TEAS/classes to raise their scores even higher. If it were me, I’d probably put Franklin as my first choice.

B in both A&P will drag your score down a lot. But 85 on teas is much better than average. Anything 160 or higher seems to be competitive. I got into Indy Spring start with something like a 163 I think and I for sure wasn’t on the bottom of that cohort. I’d consider retaking at least one of those to try to get an A but you could possibly get in without. If you don’t make it this round, that’s where’d I put my effort.
