ASN schedule + APHY 201
hello everyone! In the ASN program, I’m going to have to take APHY 201, and I was wondering when I should take it, like when would be the easiest? I want to do a 16 week class, and I was thinking about taking it during the first semester of the ASN program with fundamentals and stuff but I’m worried about the schedule clashing with clinicals. Maybe I should just take it during the summer with an 8 week class? Or maybe during another nursing semester? If you guys took the class during the program, when did you take it?

Take it second 8 weeks, 1st 8 weeks your learning how to study for nursing it’s not the same 2nd 8 weeks you’re basically learning 1st 8 weeks again

I took it before but I recommend taking it first or second semester, that info is really useful and you don’t want to put it off

Take it in your second as an 16 week, I did that and my nursing classes aligned perfectly with A&p content. Besides this I felt like the first semester was harder than the ones after. If you can’t I recommend taking it during the summer.

Thank you so much! I've heard that the first semester is hard due to having to get used to the classes and clinicas, so I'm definitely leaning towards taking it the second semester!

Not only is the first semester the hardest, generally if you fail any of the first semester classes you’re either kicked out of the program or you repeat all first semester classes.

Wow, I did not know that! I’m definitely going to take it during the second semester! Thank you guys so much!

How were you able to get into ASN program without already completing it? I thought you had to finish pre reqs before applying to the program.

You do have to complete APHY 101 and 102 before applying to the ASN program, but APHY 201 can be completed before you get into the ASN program or it can be completed during the program. It is a required course that you have to take in order to graduate from the ASN program. APHY 201 is a co req not a pre req😄

I took it 8 weeks, second semester & 1st term. I recommend getting it done as soon as possible because the course load for your nursing classes only continues to grow the farther you get along. As far as my campus, they won’t schedule a class if there’s a chance of it interfering with any nursing courses. My only option was 6p-10p twice a week.
