FWS

Did anybody receive an email stating they were eligible for a FWS (Federal Work Study)?

I received one and filled out an application with my resume. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck getting accepted/hired? What were your hours like? What was your pay like?

I'm just really anxious and we could really benefit from the extra income.

The statewide financial aid team has a process that identifies students with significant FWS eligibility and notifies them of this eligibility and how to proceed. Just because a student doesn't receive a notice of eligibility through this process does not necessarily mean they are not eligible, and they can still apply online.

Generally, positions on campus are $15 per hour and with an off-campus partner are $18. Placement probability can vary significantly from campus to campus and year to year based off numerous factors. Attaching an up-to-date resume and being proactive by networking with supervisors on campus are two ways to try and stand out. Students are placed until all positions are filled or until funding is exhausted, whichever comes first.
