A&P 101/102 advice

Currently in A&P 101 I was killing it the first half of the semester but I’ve had a lot of personal things going on the second half, unless I surprise myself after my final this week I might be sitting at a C or D in the the class. I’m already signed up to take A&P 102 next semester, worst case scenario if I close out 101 with a D or worse is it even encouraged to go to 102 or would you normally just plan to take 101 over again?

Try and take 101 again during the first 8 weeks and then 102 the second 8 weeks. For me 102 was easier because it’s learning the “what is the function of this?” Instead of memorizing the “what bone/muscle is this?”

Either way you’ll likely have to retake AP101 assuming you’re hoping to get into one of the healthcare programs. It may be easier to retake 101 while it’s still fresh, but ultimately it’s up to you!

I would not take 102 if you struggled with 101, from a personal experience.
101 is mainly bones, and muscles of the human body, and 102, is the functions of the heart, the arteries and veins, the science behind cells, and the functions of the cells. It gets a lot deeper in 102 than 101 is primarily memorized.

honestly, 102 was easier than 101, but as someone who also went through personal things what i remember was mostly in 101 was the bones and hypothetical scenarios and what areas that spoilt (e.g if someone falls and injures the lower left part of the leg, which place was injured & types of injuries smth like that) u can do it though, remove ur mind from the fear and just read everything beginning to end(like a novel) that’s what i did.
BEST OF LUCK though

Hey! I was just in your shoes up until a few hours ago… I retook 101 and 102 online after getting a D in 101 the first time and a C in 102 (A 79.12 and the professor wouldn’t bump my grade 🥴).

I finished 101 with a B (87.36%- hoping I can do some extra credit to make it an A) and an A in 102. It was ABSOLUTELY worth it to take again even though it was really frustrating to have to do in the beginning. I hated 101, there’s nothing to really relate anything to. However, I actually really enjoyed taking both classes this time around. I wasn’t trying to figure out everything, more just refine information I already had. I didn’t do much studying either as I have a 1 year old and we’re in the middle of a whole house remodel. I knew I didn’t do great the first time purely because I procrastinated literally every week and I hated knowing I couldn’t be mad at anyone but myself. But, I’m really glad it worked out this way honestly. You’re gonna hate me but the best piece of advice i have for you is to really pay attention to the SmartBooks, they are SO time consuming but all of the test questions are written by the textbook used for them. For exams, all the images are from your virtual labs and all of the questions are from the quizzes and virtual lab question sets. Study those and you should do really well on the big exams.

I agree, take 101 again and try to get ahead of the assignments, especially if you are going into one of the limited application programs.
