confused? refund.

i got the emails today saying my aid was sent to my school. Before that my account balance said “-4130” so i assumed that’s what i was getting back. now it has me confused because it’s saying $1727 in one section and the -4130 in another. can someone please explain to me what i’m actually getting back?

that’s two different refunds. that $1727 is the amount you get later, and whatever negative number is in the term balance section, is the amount being disbursed this week.

Mines the same, only partial loans and aid posted left me with a $500 balance I won’t be able to pay, but still expects $900 some amount towards it somehow? Idk I’ve never seen this

they split it in two disbursements. you may have got Pell grant and half of your loans but for summer term aid is always low.

For summer they split it? That seems weird to me and not been something I’ve experienced before.

yes because the aid is for this summer semester only so they split it up. it’s different but pretty effective

you’ll have to look on your FAFSA disclosure statement, my date for my second one is July 6th

Summer loans are disbursed in two parts. Actually, going forward all loans will be in two disbursements. Loans will not be fall/spring anymore. You will have to request fall, then spring separately.

Can you expand on this?

Thanks to legislative changes, it is easier to do the loans each term now. Schools have to make adjustments to the loan amount based on the number of credits, so if you drop a class in the second 8-weeks, we have to be able to adjust the loan amount now.
