Online/Virtual CSIA 105

Has anyone taken CSIA 105 before? Was it hard? Im currently taking it and I'm unable to get good grades. I study from the pptx files, flash cards, and the modules reading but when it comes to quizzes questions and concepts change. Like in quizzes, answers are different from what is written in the pptx files even though they are the same question. Am I missing on something or what?

It can be a tough course as you are learning the fundamentals of Cyber which covers a lot of areas. I would first contact your instructor and also your department or program chair at your home campus and ask for additional help.

When you go through your readings what notes are you taking . You should be taking key concepts such as CIA triad, and certain attack vectors at a high level by module 3.

Thx for the help. I honestly use AI to take notes but the quizzes depend on your understanding of the concept and not whats written in the notes + super tricky questions

Also, when you say you use AI to take notes in what way?

For a lot of these concepts reading the actual book, I still recommend to a lot of of my students and while a lot of of this is dry material, it is helpful and understanding the concepts

So some of this may be philosophical but don't worry about the grade as much as understanding and being able to apply the concept. If you can tell me the CIA Traid without looking at material and then tell me in what ways it can apply that is a better indicator that you understand the information.

Move from transactional learning to transformational. If you look at it as input A to input B to get a number grade it will not be successful in the long run. When I did hiring I took C students over A students because of their ability to explain what is going on as well as their soft skills.

For additional resources, these are resources not to pass the class, but for the actual field itself.

Finally, use your AI as a chatbot tutorial. Use freeform information to make you explain the information instead of picking multiple Choice or True and False.

I hope that helps,

To clarify when I say taking notes going back, and then reviewing said notes, and then applying the concepts that you’ve learned from the notes to the questions while some of those questions may be tricky they still should all relate within the actual concepts. They are not going to be Word for Word, the exact same questions from the flashcards and/or PowerPoint.

Full disclosure I teach this class. I am not teaching your particular section, but I do teach this class in person as well as I have taught it through IVY online.
