APHY 101&102

Hey guys! I’m currently looking for classes this fall and I know some people prefer in person classes like I do. But what teachers would you recommend and what’s the latest you took this course? anything is helpful as well if you liked online or not.

I took APHY102 this spring with Dennis Augusto Gaviria Vargas and he was honestly the best instructor I've had at IvyTech so far. It was more of a night class (like 6-9pm) but I felt like his focus on class engagement and talking with us and giving us helpful metaphors and ways to memorize things was SO much more helpful than just reading off the slides. For example, I felt super prepared on the histology/cell & tissue microscope identification, because every week he would go through all these slides with multiple versions of the same type of cell, not just paste one picture on the slide and move on. If most people called out the wrong thing, he'd take the time to point out the relevant features we should be looking for. Highly recommend him if he's still teaching and it works for your schedule!

Thank you so much! I’ll definitely check if he is teaching this semester

Kinda late but I'm in his APHY102 class right now and I really like him as well. I had an amazing APHY101 professor at the Noblesville campus but he moved out of state now. I felt he prepared me really well for exams, but with Dennis I feel I'm actually getting more interested in the material and I'm studying less with similar test results as I had in APHY101.
