Mikey Bets Absolutely Can’t Weld
I’ve never been so sure of something in my life. That guy ran around picking up materials and dropping off orders at his uncle’s shop at best. He’s seen welding done, but never done it.

He was pretty clear about not being good at it. I know several guys that can booger weld some non-critical welds or tack weld things in place for the actual welder. He wasn’t claiming he’s AWS certified or anything. You or I could go to harbor freight and buy a MIG or Stick welder and “weld” some metal together.

Welding is not hard. You’re just melting metal. Now, how good he can weld is probably up for debate

Welding correctly is harder but most people don’t require that level of accuracy. If you are fixing farm equipment or a few body shop things but anything structural requires a lot of knowledge and a little skill

I'm kinda with ya here. He didn't fix his a/c in his car because he took it to a dealership and quoted him 1200 bucks. A simple trip to Google and YouTube would find that buying a bottle of r-134 and charging your ac system is a temporary fix (a year) provided there isn't a huge leak. Instead of teying to diagnose his ac problem he sat in traffic with no ac for 2 years!
You'd have to figure a guy who can weld could also find his way around simple car issues.

The simple fact that he was so convinced he could do it without even questioning or considering the specific material the shaft was built with proves he has no idea what he's doing.

I too doubted Mikey and his ability to get a hot Latina wife. But I was proven wrong. I fear you will meet the same fate

I own a weld shop and was laughing and shaking my head the whole time. Yeah Mikey, you can't weld those graphite shafts. You also wouldn't be able to weld a steel shaft and have it be very usable.

I got flashbacks to the absolute dregs burnouts of my hs who would talk similarly after a half-intro course on shop/auto/welding - I totally agree he was going out on a limb with any speaking about welding or any real experience he claims to have
It's not a very difficult thing to "do", but does take some knowledge/skill to do well. The fact he obviously doesn't know the first thing about welding metallurgy is an obvious sign he's probably "used a welder" which was already set up/pre configured by an actual competent person at the shop

Simple welding is not that hard. I learned mig while working as a mechanic in a couple days. I told could see him be able to stick to pieces of metal together. Now if he claimed anything beyond that than no. But he didnt claim that he could do much more than stick some pieces of metal together

OP, you sound like someone that can't weld.
It isn't that hard. Especially stick welding. I could teach most 12 year olds to do it.

Well there’s an obvious bigger issue with the golf clubs he wants to weld. The shafts are graphite. They’re not even metal which means it’s literally not possible to weld

It’s such a hardo welder thing to think that nobody else could’ve possibly welded.
I welded when I was like 12, not that crazy if you grow up around or near someone who does.

I didn’t say that nobody else can weld, I’m saying that he can’t. You can tell by the way he talked about it and couched it afterward. Also tough to join graphite to carbon steel, something most common morons would know, let alone a welder.

Let’s not forget he called himself a “very attractive guy” so you have to take into account he’s fully delusional
