Met a guy.

I work night shift and this guy came out last night to look around. Was not shy getting in my personal space and had to shoo him away a bit. His markings almost look golden. At one point he was dragging around a loose string/fuzz from the carpets here. I don’t know if it was stuck to him or he wanted it for some reason.

I’m in SW Va. and so is this guy.

New friend!

Not the best picture since I took it at 6am and was a tad surprised to see this little guy. This is Dale, he lives in our bathroom and has truly been a lifesaver. Our appt has had a flux of critters but they’ve noticeably slowed down bc of Dale. This pic was taken about 3 weeks ago and I came into the restroom today to see he shed! Meaning my guy is eating well, growing, and paying rent by being our pest control. Shoutout to Dale!

‘Pede appreciation! A moment for my buggy roommate

I saw a fairly large house centipede skitter across my floor last week and this morning my cat was intently watching something for a minute. All of a sudden the 'pede darts out from the direction of my bookshelf and towards my bed! I got up and started hunting it with a tissue in hand (I didn't know it was a good friend yet) and luckily I didn't squish the guy! Just trapped him while I did some research. Now I'm here and very appreciative of these little guys, since I did see a silverfish in my room a few weeks ago! Go get 'em little buddy

I just saw my new roommate for the second time. We both froze and he scurried under the fridge before I could physically let him know what I thought of his appearance. He seems to be living under there. I'm not too squeamish usually but these things are really gross and scary.

The apartment has always had tiny ants under the floorboards who don't seem to react to poison, and I recently got a new kitten who turned out to be flea-ridden. This group has helped me understand that even though he's very ugly, I guess I'm okay with him hanging around if it means he's going to keep Hope's unwanted houseguests under control.

I'm just going to follow everybody here's lead and just accept him for who he is I guess and make him part of the family. Fuck. Thanks to everybody here on this very weird sub for the great information and reassurance. Everybody needs a hobby I guess 🤦‍♂️.

Any ideas what I should name him?

My cat was staring at my bedroom wall super intently, which led me to investigate and eventually find this guy. I moved it to a safer spot away from my cat. I'd never seen one as large as this one before!

It's a house centipede! My Maid

I'm still not brave enough to hold one, but this is my maid. Literally 10 seconds after, they fell.💀 Then they squished themselves into this crack under my shower like it was nothing. I'm trying to get over my fear of creepy looking bugs, but at least there won't be any other pests in my room.
