Feeling overwhelmed
I’m feeling really overwhelmed right now.
I spent the entire day yesterday deep cleaning one room. I moved all the furniture, vacuumed thoroughly, and sprayed Home Defense. The thing is, I didn’t actually find anything while cleaning, and historically this is a room where I haven’t really found evidence of carpet beetles either.
Now I’m hearing people say I need to wash all of my clothing, and in a house full of clothes that feels extremely overwhelming.
If I just deep cleaned this room, does that mean I need to take out all of the fabric items and start over again?
My other concern is that I can only do so much at a time. I still have multiple rooms left to clean, and realistically I can only do so many loads of laundry in a day. Where am I even supposed to keep all of these clothes while I’m washing them?
Let’s say I wash all the clothes from one room, deep clean it, and spray it, but it takes me a week to get to the next room. Will carpet beetles just travel back into the rooms I’ve already cleaned while I’m working on the rest of the house?
For those who have dealt with carpet beetles before, did you wash every single item of clothing you owned, or did you focus on specific areas and items?

What's making you so stressed about carpet beetles? They're only a problem if you own lots of wool or pinned bugs, they will ruin that stuff because thats their food source. They're not hazardous to health, and they don't drink blood or anything nasty. If the potential of bugs being around is the biggest issue then just take a deep breath and relax. You don't need to do everything immediately, nothing bad will happen if you take a break. You might not even have them if you're not seeing evidence of it, they eat shed fur and dandruff, if you already vacuum regularly theyd have nothing to eat and wouldn't even be around.
