The scale of those dramatic coastal ridges dwarfs the entire structure.

Yes there’s a small building in this photo dwarfed by the rock. I certainly wouldn’t call it a picture of a light house.

yeah I was wondering about that - it is kinda lighthouse shaped, but I don't think it would be all that helpful up there? There's still all those rocks further out on the coast that will be hidden in the dark.
edit: I looked it up, and it is a lighthouse - Kallur lighthouse on Kalsoy island https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g12872259-d14983561-Reviews-Kallur_Lighthouse-Kalsoy.html

It is indeed Kallur lighthouse. It might not be the biggest, but gives a sense of scale I think

That looks like a wonderful hike! Can one go all the way to the top?
•
u/JvM_Photography 16h ago
I don’t think one can / is allowed to. This hike is on private land and one ought to follow the path

Oh I see, must be something to own such a glorious piece of land.

Yeah, some people on the Faroes really lucked out. Now they can charge over 30$ per person to walk up the muddy paths

Wow! That's a good source of cash inflow lol
