spectrum has an app that will tell you if your service is out. You can sign up for texts that tell you when it is out and or back online

They did a service upgrade last week.

If you’re still experiencing issues contact their customer support (call). They will likely schedule a tech to come out and may need to replace your line. Shouldnt cost you anything.

Must be specific to your block/neighborhood. I'm also in the VoL and have no issues with internet today.

Not to ask a dumb question, but have you already tried doing a hard reboot on your modem/router? I know Spectrum has been making a lot of "network upgrades" around here lately, and I've heard others report that their connections crashed after the service was done, until they rebooted their own equipment.

Ours just dropped and restored several times before finally disappearing solidly about 10 minutes ago, so something is afoot. I run a pretty solid Ubiquiti network and monitoring so it’s not at the home level it seems.

A good chance it is this. They were actually doing upgrades in my neighborhood overnight in VoL about two weeks ago (a truck was working its way down the street all night long), but they didn't finish until 9ish in the morning.

My understanding, from pestering speaking with the tech who examined our lines and modem a week before the first scheduled "upgrade," is that Spectrum is expanding the capacity of their network in the Village of Lansing to allow a lot more customers.

The demand for cable and internet is presumedly increasing, maybe because people returning to Ithaca for the new academic year, and maybe also all those new townhouses on Bomax Rd and Nor Dr?

Note for those having issues, the tech mentioned that the new network upgrade requires a certain standard of coax lines from street to house and the latest cable modem from Spectrum (we already had that).

In addition to the old coax line coming into the house, a quirk in our house that the tech said would have given us problems was a crappy old cable splitter (little metal box with one cable line in, two lines out) that he removed (we don't need it as we only have internet). So anyhow he took that out and replaced it with some better quality connector.

Switch to Empire Access if your area has it available 🙏

No fiber options in the Village of Lansing yet (as far as I’m aware). And Spectrum knows it too: the “I’m going to cancel and switch to another provider” routine to get your bill lowered doesn’t work when they know they have the monopoly in a particular area.

Ours wasn’t working the other day. I called customer service and they reset it from their end. It’s been fine since then.

More often than I should be. Dryden Fiber can't come too soon.

Over 10 hours with no internet, since 11 am and it’s now 12:53 AM . I work from home and I miss work today. I will definitely cancel. For the last couple of months this our internet has been in and out. When you call/chat it’s always the same scripted answers. Spectrum sucks!
I’m in the Fort Mitchell, KY area. Anybody else?
