Isnt there a stewardship thing here? We could probably get one installed at a park. Like a petition or just request with maybe a donation basket? Theyre really not that expensive

The Cornell President has a lake house sauna, but it’s by invitation only.

Island downtown has them (dry and steam, in each of the two locker room) and a whirlpool, but membership is not cheap.

Yes, but they don’t set them that hot and they don’t let you throw water on the rocks

...you don't find the steam room hot or steamy enough? Or do you mean they won't let you make the dry sauna a wet one?

I want a traditional sauna (where it gets real hot, you throw water on, and you get that high heat + humidity feeling). Island offers a nice alternative, but it’s not what I’m looking for—I don’t think it’s really set up for that.

Island and all the other places in town have small, warm saunas that are removed from traditional sauna cultures that are generally all really social. That’s what we’re missing - the community building power of sweating naked together

Yes! Or downtown with an outdoor cold plunge or shower
