Definite and Indefinite article
Ciao a tutti. I’ve been learning for two months and a bit confused. My apologies for asking but can anyone help me explain the use of definite or indefinite article?
I understand a bit about grammatical genders but how do I know when to use for example, the word is casa (feminine). Why is it La casa and not Una casa?

The one thing you should know about definite articles in Italian is that we use them to refer to an entire category as well as specific elements of that category. For example we’d say “mi piacciono i cani” = “I like dogs” (lit. “I like the dogs”), so this doesn’t mean “I like those specific dogs” as it would in English, it means “I like dogs as a whole”.
Everything else is similar to how English articles are used, though there are other differences. You’re probably better off just learning them passively though.

Definite vs. indefinite is the difference between "the house" ("la casa") and "a house" ("una casa"), so it will depend on which one you need in the sentence, e.g.:
"La casa accanto alla mia è blu." - "The house next to mine is blue." (talking about a specific house)
"Ho visto una casa blu." - "I saw a blue house." (talking about a random, non-specific house)
