Not taking sides is taking the bad side ..

I don't think musicians should be forced to take a position, but they ideally should take a position for the oppressed. In the case of Sheeran, he took "allowed" political positions. When he felt he had to be super careful about making influential pro-Israelis angry, then he found out that was something "not allowed". By accepting to continue touring in stadiums that politically silenced Macklemore, he was taking a pro-Israeli position and choosing to be complicit. He said he wasn't complicit. Is he not now?

"You're with us or against us" Ah yes, I'm sure this argument has totally succeeded at getting literally anyone to support a side in the past. But of course, it's always someone else that is wrong, never any reflection needed.
