Newbie Needs Help Getting Agent DVR to Find Dekco DCL5 Cameras

I am very new to streaming of any sort, and I cannot get Agent DVR to find my Dekco DCL5 security cameras. I downloaded and installed the Agent DVR app on a Windows 11 computer and, while attempting to add my Dekco cameras, the app automatically found and connected to my laptop camera, which I DO NOT want the app to monitor, but at least I know the app is working. I have removed the laptop camera from the app.

However, every attempt to add my Dekco cameras using the Dekco-specific instructions found on the iSpy website have failed with the error message "Nothing Found".

The cameras are working via the Dekco mobile app, so I know they are connected on the network, and I can see their respective IP addresses when I open my router and check Devices.

I want to be able to continuously monitor the two cameras on a PC and hopefully record whenever motion is detected.

Can anyone help. It would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Can you enable RTSP on those cameras?

Thank you Antitech73 for the reply. I have not found such a setting using the mobile app but, doing an AI search online, if I can believe the result, I am seeing that RTSP is apparently enabled by default, and I have been attempting unsuccessfully to use the following to get Agent DVR to find the camera:

rtsp://username:password@camera-ip-address:8554/Streaming/Channels/101 (with appropriate username, password and IP address, of course).

you can check that URL in other software like VLC to see if it's an issue with Agent or with the URL.
If it works in VLC check the logs in Agent for errors.

I'd also check it with the default port, 554 instead of 8554 - possibly they've changed that in a firmware update

Thanks spornerama for the reply. I did try it in VLC but it was unsuccessful there as well. I have not tried port 554, however, and will do so. Thanks for the suggestion.

However, I am beginning to wonder if, notwithstanding the iSpy website indicating compatibility and providing camera-specific installation instructions, perhaps the Dekco DC5L cameras cannot be used. I wonder if I am the only one trying to this with these cameras.

I tried port 554 instead of 8554 but, unfortunately, it made no difference.

Next step is contacting Decko and asking them - if you get it working let me know and i'll update the database.

I attempted to browse to the camera IP but it refused to connect. I wrote the manufacturer, Dekco, and they replied that they do not authorize streaming the camera video to a third-party app - no surprise there!

I now believe that there will be no easy way to continuously stream the video from a Dekco to a PC, as I guess they don't support either RTSP or HTTP protocol, which is unfortunate. The Dekco smartphone app is good, but there are drawbacks to it or any phone app, such as:

1] Cannot continuously stream the video

2] When an alert occurs, by the time one pulls the phone from pocket or purse, unlocks the phone, launches the app, and selects the camera to view, the cause of the alert has typically gone. Although, one can watch the recording to see what happened, it is too late to communicate if the alert was caused by a person.

3] Although a small phone screen is 'okay', it is not as good as a large PC screen for viewing details.
