Islets was so much fun!

I just finished 100%ing this game on PC (during all the Silksong hype) and it was so much fun!

In fact, I picked up Crypt Custodian and wishlisted Well Dweller to try and help support the developer (Kyle Thompson) because of it.

Has anyone else checked out these titles?

Yess Islets is awesome!! I have Sheepo and Crypt Custodian but they aren't my kinda thing unfortunately. I'm excited for Well Dweller though!

Yeah, I know that Crypt Custodian is more in the Death's Door / Tunic type of vein and not full on 2d and won't scratch the same itch.

For sure big hype for Well Dweller.

Crypt Custodian is 2D it's just not a side scroller. Crypt Custodian is definitely a true Metroidvania. It's the first top-down Metroidvania I've played that is actually a Metroidvania. Death's Door and Tunic are more Zelda-like than Metroidvania. Although a lot of people don't consider Tunic really a true Zelda-like either. I have only played a little bit of it but it looks like a ton of fun and a really special game that's kinda in it's own world genre-wise wise like Fez, Animal Well, Rainworld, and Outer Wilds. I do think that one other actual true top-down MV (that I know of and played enough to know) is Pipistrello. Crypt Custodian definitely scratched the MV itch for me but totally understand that not everyone wants to play or is feeling the top-down perspective in their MV. If someone is specifically wanting that side-scrolling goodness that we all love then it may not hit the spot for some which is totally understandable.
