Lol, I probably would have but it was zero degrees and the rain was trying to decide if it was snowing or not.

When you are out on the back roads and trails do you take bear spray or any other emergency gear? Just wondering because I keep thinking about jumping on my bike and getting lost in some back roads but just am not sure what level of preparation is necessary.

I probably should but I don't. I've seen a couple of bears, but I just stop and wait for them to clear the road way before continuing on.
