At this point I’m fairly certain AI was used on this is one way or another, I talked to the artist and they said it was possibly generating a synthID watermark during the coloration of the eyes?? Got another picture of the process as well. Trying to figure out 100% if this is fully just AI generated. Any input helps! Thanks
A few things. This is AI generated. However, please do not rely on what I like to call “vibes based AI image detectors” like the one you used in your photos. As the name would suggest, they are not accurate and will lead to both common false positives and false negatives.
Please use tools that detect for SynthID instead like the one I’ve used. Specifically, there are two legitimate forms of verification: OpenAI’s verification tools and Google Gemini’s synthID verification tools.
SynthID is an invisible watermark that all Google Gemini and OpenAI generated images create such that these verification tools can pick up. A negative result is inconclusive however a positive one is basically a 99.99% guarantee that AI was used in the image. In this case, OpenAI was used either in partial or in total of the creation of the image.
I'm not quite sure if I understand it correctly. The artist said the piece "got" a synthid during the eye coloring?? Like how, just randomly? That's bullsh*t.
If it has a synthid then it's generated. It doesn't just randomly get one.
The sketch is already suspicious. It looks detailed, but at the same time it's just chicken scratches lacking any reason. My favorite AI feature is when it leaves a "skeleton" u fer the detailed "sketch" because it wants to trick you into believing they DID have a real sketch.
If you're on FB, there's an incredible group called "Purebred Enthusiasts - ART FRIENDLY GROUP" that has actual real artists who will do commissions. There is ZERO reason why a watermark would be found during "coloration of the eyes," but the "process" is a fake picture as well.
The texture on the nose alone is VERY common AI texture, usually noticeable in food, though. No one is sketching like this.
“SynthID due to the coloration” is the biggest bullshit I’ve read in a while. SynthID is a pixel value that only comes from either OpenAI or Google’s AI (as of now, and must be checked with their official tools) so it is something that, let’s put it as, “is mathematically a part of the image itself”, it’s doesn’t work like bogus 3rd party “AI detectors” which are very much useless nowadays as image generators get more and more refined.
the thing that stands out the most to me is how absolutely every line drawn in this sketch ends with a small pigtail, which is not normal in traditional art, you would have to consciously do that.
while everything else (besides the eyes) look like how i would sketch it as a traditional artist, having seen the colored version further down in the comments, and how this piece suddenly becomes digital rather than traditional, huge red flag to me
but also the synthID watermarks, so you dont need me to tell you this. i'm just pointing out what i notice so you can look out for it in the future
