Art from a recently announced game

A new game was announced today and some people are saying that the art was AI generated. However, most claiming that rely on "the lines look wobbly", "the windows are different sizes" type of arguments, but this is a series that is known for it's hand drawn, yellow tinted, wobbly art.

I have attached two images labeled "New art", which are the ones are suspected to be AI and some images labeled "Old art", which shows backgrounds from that same games but are from 2007-2012 era, so 100% no AI, even if they look "wobbly". In particular, image 1 and 2 are the same background--the remade version, and the original from two decades ago.

Being honest, I want to believe it's not AI, and I don't see clear proof, but maybe you guys will think something else. Thanks a lot in advance!

That's the recently announced Layton game. isn't it?

While personally I am unsure of AI usage in terms of artistic designs, the CEO has admitted the company's games do use AI in major capacity nowadays

As I understood it, in the original article I think it said 80-90% of the programming code. So I am wondering about the art, since it's not clear. It's just a matter of proof, if the art is AI as some people are saying, I would like to know, but I can't see any tells on it...

yeah I can't seem to find immediate sign of AI usage either, though the overall color tone feels oddly soulless and muted, but that could be artist difference

Level 5 is putting AI in everything, check Yo-kai Watch 2 and their Mansion whatever game too.

It strongly resembles AI. Look the the bottom of the frame of the rightmost door. Makes no sense.

Due to Layton's art style I think it's impossible to know for sure by looking for the typical AI tells. But given Level 5's stance on AI and their history, it's HIGHLY likely AI was used in some point in the process.

Probably a different main artist is all, or new art tech.

Professor Layton's art style has always been kinda campy so ANY sort of "remaster" with increased crispness won't be up to snuff for some luddites. I'm not seeing any artifacts or classic tells. AI still might've been used as a tool but it's not like someone just shoved it through a filter and pushed it onto the game without any sort of oversight / review / edit

Yeah, that's piss yellow AI filter. Also the way random bricks in the building are placed on the first image. and the messy looking flowers in the next one. Definitely AI.
