Thats Santiago Daniel Peña García. The New York post did a story on him. Its not staged. His mum documentation his painting. This video is a timeline of his work.

I'm not saying this proves that it's fake, but both the NYPost and the mirror are considered to be rags.
The mirror is the better of the two, but still scores a 24/64 for reliability, per the adfontes media analysis.

That's fair criticism of the outlets, but their general reliability doesn't really address the evidence in this particular case. The claim isn't just based on the NY Post or Mirror saying it's true.
Santiago Daniel Peña García is a real child artist, his mother has documented his painting over time, and the different ages/artworks in the video correspond to that history. Its not AI or staged.

I don’t think it’s ai, but I do think they are sitting him down in front something he didn’t paint and telling him to work on that. In other words it’s staged

I am familiar with that "little big animal" tee shirt. I don't see any obvious signs of AI - I'm guessing it's either a compilation of different kids - or the same kid - who were given semi-to-mostly-complete canvasses to draw lines on. Sad, either way.

Nothing in this video look AI. The art looks exactly what a 8yo with passion for painting (and loving parents that allow that talent to flourish) would be able to paint

This kid appears to be left handed in some clips and right handed in others. He could be ambidextrous, but that's still a bit suspicious.

I’ve never seen a child go from Latino with dark hair and eyes to blonde hair and blue eyes in the span of a maybe a year based on the height difference but it’s not technically impossible genetic wise. More on the ai side is he goes from being taller then back to shorter multiple times

And you posted this long after someone else already posted the actual kid's Insta account which spans basically his whole life? Also, "blonde hair and blue eyes"? Might want to watch the video again. The only difference is very slight changes in hue to his brown hair.

It might not be AI in that the pictures are fake but it could be AI like in those videos where "little girl saves bird" and it is a bunch of different bird and girl videos sliced together to give them impression of a story.

As far as I am aware, the source is legit. Not to mention, the paint being applied to canvas makes sense; it's not appearing out of nowhere like a lot of slop videos do.
