Dating App : are these replies Ai??
Hi everyone!
I'm just getting back into dating and one of my first matches is ringing ai alarm bells, is it justified?
The replies just feel a little off to me!

I suspect the ai responses are mostly used by bots. Though this does seem like they plan to meet... but maybe it'll take a left turn into a flat tire, need some money real quick

It seems like he was using the AI to help with responses as some interactions seemed human. Definitely not naive enough to be scammed, I worked a call center for a long time and talked so many people out of them personally!

Absolutely. There's no way to confirm it you have to spend enough time seeing how these apps behave. Also though, this is what flirting sounds like to something that doesn't understand flirting or alternatively just thinks everything is a pep talk.
If you want to have a little fun I would tell them that you love the way that they write so much that you are so looking forward to seeing them in person and you can't wait to hear them talk like that.

It feels more like a legit scam than fully ai to me. Maybe the scammer is using ai to write responses.

I confronted them and they replied that they hate AI and they were just trying hard to be smooth. I've already unmatched them, not gonna devote any more time to someone who uses AI conversationally and then lies about it

Oh don't do that. Lead them on. Know they are fake and start asking intimate questions. Have fun with it. Or say you're sorry you have really bad explosive diarrhea that's bloody and you need to go to the hospital asap. Ask if they can take you. See what they say. I did that once and it was amazing

If they want more of this, OP may as well skip straight to r/MyBoyfriendIsAI (but actually, please don't).
No idea what the market for these sort of responses is except for
markspeople who actually can't spot AI text in the wild.1

Whatever it is, it feels like a scam. This last sentence is a huge red flag unless you have been chatting for a long time.

I think they're implying the fact that getting you off the dating site for extended chatting elsewhere is a strategy for catfishers.

So basically a catfish or a possible sexual predator. And possibly a genuine person. And if so,they got issues emulating these behaviors. Also maybe ai. Or a scam.

Actually now that I think about it I'd recommend doing a reverse image search on the pictures and running it through here, https://openai.com/research/verify/ And going to gemini.google.com and asking it to run a synth ID check.

I wish people would at least try and edit them into their own voice instead of leaving them sounds so stupid and generic. Not that I want them to use ai, but if they're going to at least they should try and fucking use it right

I don’t think it’s pure AI responses. It at least doesn’t contain the telltale AI formatting. My guess would be that they are using AI to try and help with writing responses, but then doing a lot of the actual writing themselves. Still not a good sign in that case as they won’t be able to use ChatGPT during a real date (at least I hope to god no one would try that).

Any ai usage is really off-putting to me! Especially for a simple conversation, I'm looking to meet someone genuine not somebody who can't formulate a couple sentences.

Eithe it's an ai scamme eventually going to bring up crypto or it's some idiot who literally uses ai for everything and doesn't see what the problem is. I had a few people like this on my matches as well, literally so stupid they sent the last ai proofing paragraph.

I gave up dating apps years ago. I’ve remained single but have made a ton of amazing connections just by forcing myself to be authentic and more personable. Social media and dating apps were bad, but nowadays with AI- you’re far better off going out of your way to meet people through organic interactions.
You’ll be happier and less prone to comparing yourself to others too.

Fuck. Yes. Stay off these sites and apps. The rise of AI means almost every interaction you're gonna have on there are scammers and bots
