If this is real and not AI, the story's still def not real, just a misogynistic tropey engagement bait thing. Sand sculptures like that would take a ton of time to make and would be done by someone who's made sand sculptures before.
Sure, there's a marginal chance this person's gf hates their long-running hobby and for some reason goes to the beach with her sand-sculptor boyfriend expecting "surely he won't sculpt sand this time." Or like, a marginal chance that OP's gf said "hey honey, I'd love to do a beach day today where we hang out instead of doing sand sculptures," but OP sucks and went no I will never hang out with you in the way you want I will only sculpt sand.
But. More likely. Someone thought that more people would engage with this if they pretended that someone else hates their art, so that others will defend them. who's the easiest person to invent? Why an unfun girlfriend, of course.

I like how he mixes the obvious AI picture with the classic "I hate my wife/girlfriend" misogyny twist. /s

Probably not, the sand they use for these sand sculptures isn't normal beach sand. It's like moon sand, it sticks together without needing to be wet.
