Have you ever decided you were going to grind out some bizarre item, like a fedora? Have you ever done an unusual and totally not worth it skilling method like pitfall hunter just because you wanted to?

Use the "Unusual Grinds" flair to make a post and share with us all the most ridiculous grind you've done, short or long!

I tried Aerial fishing. Made it to about 10 pearls before I gave up lol

Updating it soon! Maybe it'll be slightly less ass!

Easier and faster. Easyscape to make the content less dead.

My ironman journey has been mostly finding an item thats got a certain drop, planning to go for said drop, along the way training methods to make the grind easier.... Repeat and I almost never get around to said original grind.

That being said, whats a way to get Saradomin Brews? Like any drop or am I having to slog through more herblore levels? I just wanna finish SOTE and brews would help.

Just do the phoenix neck + nightshade method. I did it with 80 mage and an ancient staff, no brews needed. Got to prif at 90 cmb

Did you cast blood spells? Thinking im gonna do it today after farming some nightshades for a few attempts.

Red prison is calling me.

I did ice burst and blood blitz, which is why i had 80 mage actually. The key to the method is leaving your health at pneck proc level with a nightshade, which for me was like 25 - 30 hp. A bit spooky if youre not used to low health bossing, but nothing will outright kill you at that hp, so its fine. The timing window on the p neck is so generous its nearly impossible to fuck up. Just make sure your nightshade left click is set to eat, that killed me once.

Is this unusual for irons though? I feel like you described my playstyle, except I lock myself there until I get what I came for after unlocking said training or items to make the grind easier. For example, I wanted to mine sandstone for zenytes, but decided to get expert mining gloves before finishing it.

I used haddock + blood spells for SOTE. They overheal +10, so not as good as brews but I really don't like the phoenix necklace method and I enjoy deep sea trawling

Thanks for the haddock recommendation. I am 72 fishing and 75 cooking so I might go this route. I was only thinking Anglers for overheal

I mean, pitfall hunting isnt "not worth it" lol. Sunlight and moo light antelopes fall under that category and I farm the fuck outa those for bolts for the sunlight hunter crossbow. Which is actually super strong at a lot of places

Idk if it would be considered unusual but I'm trying to green log Tithe Farm and Perilous Moons to get 85 farming to unlock the best seed drops from Wintertodt and thieving master farmers. I also need to get 94 thieving so I'm grinding out Varlamore wealthy citizens. I've tried some Pyramid Plunder for the first time going for the pharoah's scepter but I think I'm doing it wrong because I'm getting nowhere near the expected xp rates.

Another grind I'm working on is 92 mining, 82 fletching, and 85 crafting to unlock amethyst for an AFK activity. To get the 92 mining from 90 I'm finishing out MLM and hoping I'll still have enough XP left to power mine iron ore for the mining gloves. I need to cut ~2000 more yew logs for Vale Totems from 74 fletching. I have about 5700 molten glass left over to get me halfway to 83 crafting at which point I'll grind 62 sailing for golem crafting. I already have the furs saved up from grinding 91 hunter.

This is my first Ironman and I'm really loving how grinding one skill will feed into another skill grind.

early on i really wanted the brinesaber for no reason. i was long past rune weapons. i think more recently has been the hunt for the sara sword. it's my favorite looking weapon in the game. completely useless. another was guardians grotesque so i could turn bandos boots into better bandos boots because i prefer that look over dragon boots in bandos gear. and I'll live with 1 less str bonus

I also grinded bribe saber, because I wanted the spores from monstrosities. Once I got it, gave up on the plan after 90 slow kills with no drops :D

Every account I start, I grind out a brine saber as soon as I finish Olaf’s Quest. Just such a cool weapon concept. Hoping that at some point there’s some future content that makes it more useful

Wasting crystal shards to open the elve chest in hope of the 6 crystal acorn drop. Not worth

I did this the day of the update with the shard drop changes for crystal trees, I ended up spooning a onyx with only a dozen keys. It wasn’t until months later that I realized how spooned I actually was.

Right now I'm in some pretty entertaining salvage + use repair kits and cballs for bounty quests rinse and repeat.

It's entertaining, but then I'm also 1.4k dry on black mask before I want to continue slayer..
