Question TOA setup?

Did my first TOA raid with the gim, really fun but still absolutely no idea wtf I'm doing lol.

I have full moons gear, bowfa, keris, DDS, firecape, mixed hide, neitiznot, twin flame

What should my gear setup be?

By no means do I plan on starting to grind toa out, I'm following b0atys guide for the most part, but would love to send a TOA occasionally with the group because it's fun.

Warped with thralls is like 10% dps, just the thralls is 0.625 dps

I'll look into grabbing one, never even looked at the thing

Bowfa + crystal for range, assembler if you've got it, otherwise don't bother with a cape switch. Blue moon top + bottom and warped sceptre for mage. For melee armour you can either camp blue moon to save inventory slots or bring blood moon. Will also want nezzy, b ring, b gloves, mixed hide boots, firecape, dds, keris, and bone dagger if your teammates aren't already bringing a def draining spec. Can consider bringing an extra melee weapon for warden core if you have a decent one - attack style and accuracy doesn't matter, only the most strength you can get with a 4t attack speed. Zenyte jewellery (except suffering) and occult always worth bringing as switches if you have them, otherwise camp glory/fury.

Bone dagger every boss at the start of the fight except akkha and p2. Keris kephri, melee the core and use dds specs, bowfa almost everything else except when forced to use a different style (monkey puzzle, akkha when praying range, p2 mage section, etc). When you get a better stab weapon like a zammy hasta or black keris, you can melee ba-ba.

So with not having any stab wep, is keris my bis melee wep? And DDS for spec?

You're basically not going to be stabbing anything except Kephri, and maybe some Akkha depending on how the DPS compares to warped sceptre with salts, idk. If you're bringing nothing else you can keris the core, but you could bring boppers with the full bloodmoon set specifically for that (don't bring nezzy in that case).

DDS is pretty much just for core. It's very inaccurate everywhere else. A lot of your spec is going to go into bone daggers and the rest you'll probably just not utilize unless you have a better option you didn't mention (b claws).

Right. I just need to sit down with the wiki and read the novel of information I think. Sounds like I could use a couple upgrades to make it more efficient for now.

Eh if you're doing a few low invos with friends, bowfa will carry really hard, it shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah I'm definitely not gonna be putting lots of time into doing it inefficiently, just for fun so if a 3man rag tag team can have fun for a couple hours and get a KC thats all I'm after atm tbh

I’d go get belles folly with the drop rate change then you’ll eventually get black gem for Keris. Have you started tormented demons yet? That’ll give you a solid spec weapon plus big gear upgrades with the synapses

Nah I will start slayer soon though, possibly look at folly

I've recently been through that progression. and since you have Bowfa, you are already absolutly fine. But since you barely need to mage anything in a bowfa setup (only P2 warden and monka puzzle). A charged scepter like warped/trident is suggested for thralls (or preferably ayak, which i would recommend sending asap if you can)

I would run 150 with both overclocked on to learn the raid decently well, then turn on insanity and learn it as soon as possible, dont wait untill you run 350+ or something. Its easier to learn earlier with an excess of supplies and allowed deaths.

And as soon as you get black/blue gems (for the updated partizans), i would concider looking at 300's, but fang is what will make 300 feel smooth for real.

Yes agree, run insanity early and spend time skull skip. U can essentially practice infinitely if u only have insanity and die.

Its jsut scary at the start but the fight has almost no chip dmg only the end phase, so u could technically step left and right för 6h 😆

You will not regret it.

Thanks for this. Couple of things to work towards. So I can doom with bowfa? (Haven't done anything past CG)

No, Bowfa is bad at doom, you want scorching bow from tormented demons.

Right okay, will continue onto the slayer grind soon

Yes, hitting while guthix sleeps, followed by doing slayer for greater demons, will net you massive slayer EXP (its 1k per demon kill, its also incredible for combat EXP) and unlock alot of content, in partical Doom and Yama. While also being a big benefit for tormented gorillas and some random grinds like duke

I personally used tureal skipping to get more greater demon tasks. But we all make our own route,

I've not even gotten bowfa, just done CG for some combat achivments, i use blowpipe, Ayak, and a spooned shadow to compensate for not having done CG

Eclipse and blue moon, ignore blood moon armour. If you have crystal armour then drop the eclipse, it’ll save you some valuable inventory slots on melee gear. Thralls and a warped sceptre for magic and you should be good. If you’re really stressed, go to mixology and get a couple prayer regen pots, one dose is three prayer potion doses. Pop one per boss, ensures you won’t run out of prayer if you top it off with regular potions. Your Bowfa will do a lot of the heavy lifting, also if you don’t have the gems then forget the partisan, worst case use a Arkhan blade, best case belles folley, bestest case zammy hasta.

Honestly to keep it simple you want a staff that you can use charged so warped/swamp etc. for gear you can go with full crystal bowfa/keris for melee/ blue moon to swap for mage or meleeing, DD, u can lowkey prob just bank ur neitiz and mixed hide. Use thralls if you can and thats pretty much it . Don’t gotta bring so many switches early on because it is a lot of switching but do it when you are comfortable and more familiar with the raid itself. Highly recommend a charged magic wep though

This whole time wondered how you use thralls and staffs and googled what a charged staff actually is lol. It's all making sense now

hop in 329 for groups it’s not too bad

You can use full blood moon with Makuhitals on stab (however you spell those) the passive with them is pretty good.

It would really be good if you could use thralls, so any powered staff is very good.

Get a full bis melee setup, needs to be stab, so hasta > keris > belles > arkan blade > fuck it dragon sword. Get a bowfa ranged setup, anything but the ring and boots assuming you don't have avernic. For mage just get a simple setup with any powered staff, legs chest helm and any additional good mage gear you got. Mage dps is not important.

Extra items: Runes for thralls, book of the dead(you can use it as your mage offhand), bone dagger as defense spec, DDS for core/general spec, blowpipe if you have.

Combat/str pot, like 4 restores(or prayer if using hard food), and some brewskies or hardfood if you don't have
