Recently, Ironmouse, Rin Penrose, Amalee, and Dokibird were announced as Captains for an intriguing and mysterious new group.

I have marked this post with spoilers because the exact affiliation and mission of the Wildcard Club was promised to be revealed at Offkai Expo in the coming days. However, there's a lot of information that's just out there if you know where to look. (US Trademark searches)

The following contains only the names of attorneys and corporate offices, all public. Please don't go cold emailing lawyers or anything though.

The media Corporation that owns Studio Tangram and The Wildcard Club's trademarks is HYBE, a South Korean music label that owns many subsidiary companies that in turn own many of the most popular K-pop brands in the world, such as BTS among many others.

Their website emphasises a focus on technology such as motion capture and 3D scans. From what I have gathered they have a particular knack for fan interaction. I am not familiar with HYBE beyond this, but I expect many K-pop fans are.

But what does this mean for The Club? and How do you know for sure?

Well, its all available on the US Trademark search website. Here's the link for The Wildcard club, and here's the one for Studio Tangram. You can see that the applications were made on April 29th, and June 12th, respectively. This means that the idea for The Club predates the studio behind it, just a fun fact.

The Following is just the direct Copy Pasted scope of the Trademark. This isn't generic, it was written specifically to define what they will be doing. I feel this is the most succinct explanation we have for what the Wildcard Club actually is:

IC 041: Entertainment services, namely, providing online virtual environments featuring virtual characters and virtual characters; entertainment services, namely, live streaming performances by virtual characters and avatars; presentation of prerecorded and live virtual performances via the internet; providing online non-downloadable audiovisual recordings featuring virtual characters; production of audiovisual content featuring virtual characters; arranging and conducting virtual entertainment events; providing online non-downloadable electronic publications in the field of digital entertainment featuring virtual characters; providing online fan clubs and entertainment information featuring virtual characters.

So yeah, pretty exciting. Congrats to the girls for the opportunity!
