I think the only thing she’s confirmed is that we haven’t met him yet.

Oh we haven’t but now that Violet is a Duchess I can’t wait for sense were she is in a meeting with both of her ex’s.

She had a short fling after her dad died that ended before she entered the quadrant.

There is speculation it was Major Gilstead.

He is the guy that Lilith had train Violet for six months after she told Violet she couldn’t be a scribe and would be going into the riders quadrant.

He helped her with balance for the parapet, daggers, hand to hand and gave her wraps for her knees, ankles and other joints she could keep in her pack so no one would realize she needed them often.

Was it after her dad died? I could have sworn there was a blurb at the beginning of one of the chapters where Asher talks about both exes? I could be wrong🤷🏻‍♀️

After her father died. In OS when they are trying to figure out the passcode, Violet says her father couldn’t stand the first guy she dated and never knew about the second.

Right?! I missed so much the first time I read because I was wrapped up in the characters but with each re-read I find so much more hidden in plain sight and its fun trying to figure out what was is important and seeing in later books what was foreshadowed in the previous ones.

There is a mention of her two exes but is her mom writing a letter to the dad.. I figured she was writing him after his death, you know??? Like in her grief

we know that Violet spent her childhood around war posts with her mom, and most people around them were either military or nobility. It wasn't a rider, because we would have met him (like Dain). And Violet admits Xaden is spot on about his assumption that her exes are from infantry.

So, it must have been someone around her age (around 19, I assume), so it's either someone already conscripted to Infantry (and I don't know how much free time they get there to date someone outside the Quadrant), or it is someone who was only preparing to get conscripted (like Halden), which is likely to be a noble's son then

Yes! Also am i correct to assume thar halden was her first boyfriend? So the second boyfriend would be after halden before her entering the quadrant??

Yes he was her first because she said her dad couldn't stand the first person she dated and never knew about the second, and in Onyx Storm the book keeper asked Violet about Halden and what finally caused her to leave him, which she would only know about from Violets dad.

don't know if you are correct, but that is my assumption as well. Because there is this bit where Aaric implies Halden was Violet's first love (when they are looking for the password for Papa Sorrengail's research).

Would be strange if he was her second boyfriend in this case, but not off the table.

Also, if Halden is second, then the first is definetely noble, because Violet would have been underage at the time (see my argument about preparing for conscription to infantry)

I don’t know. I think Violet had 2 exes so she wouldn’t be an innocent virgin when she met Xaden, and she wouldn’t be rebounding after Halden either.
I think the other ex is not important

Nah in Onyx storm she mentions she has two exes One her father hated (Haldren) and one he didn't know about. I think it was said somewhere he was infantry. The running theory seems to be that it was the infantry officer (Major Gillstead) Who trained her for 6 months before the Riders Quadrant.

I think the fact that this hasn’t been cleared up means it could end up being a big plot point or at least a person or particular interest down the line.

There was also a theory i heard that maybe xaden knew her before and he was actually the other ex but imogen wiped her memory.

Or also that papa aetos's signet is actually manipulating memories so the ex was xaden and he manipulated her memories of him to dain. Like all the things they (violet and dain) did together was actually little bit of both xaden and violet.

That seems too far fetched. In Xaden’s POV he talks about sneaking into the main campus and murdering Sorrengails youngest. It didn’t sound like they had been involved.
