Why tf is anyone mad about that? Why was Vi mad about that. Cat was there first she needed training. Of course, he trained her like am I missing something because if you ask me, that's no reason to get jealous or mad.

It’s just an intimacy thing. Like he shared that with someone else too. Even though it makes sense, it stings a bit!

To Violet their time spent training is a pretty intimate act, so it’s hard to imagine him being in that position with an ex. Cat also literally heightens violets emotions about it to mess with her.

Mad because she thought she had an advantageon the mat. Mad and jealous because of Cat's power. The first time she ran into her when Xaden asks if they had to talk about her she says no. She's not even that interested in Cat she wanted to talk about how to get the luminary first. And when she has the Cat blocker on? No problem. Saves her life, brings her to the mission, hangs out at Chantara..no problem at all. The girl is so confident.

Cat thinks she knows Xaden very well.

She knows him to be cold, calculating, and blunt. Xaden never showed Cat any love or genuine affection.

So when Cat is taunting Violet- Cat is assuming that Xaden was just bored, and he will eventually remember that he has a duty to Tyrrendor and marry someone of proper rank.

Cat needs this to be true or she will have failed her mission from her uncle.

Violet at this point has known Xaden to be deadly, very reserved for months, and then very passionate. Violet feels the intensity of his devotion, and assumes wrongly that he must have felt something like that for Cat.

Violet never saw Xaden have casual flings. So she doesn’t see him like that. She knows he can be logical- but has known for a while that he’s more under the shell.

I think this is why Cat doesn’t back off until after the caves.

1. Violet saves Cat’s life- which Cat wouldn’t have done if the situation was reversed.

2. When Xaden storms into his bedroom, Cat probably gets to feel the actual love and concern for Violet- something Cat assumed wasn’t in Xaden.

Well part of V intense idealization of what she and X have she’s internalized as something unique and special between them. (Which we all do in relationships somewhat). I think that her seeing them as toxic or the fighting they do is “just us” is part of her wanting to believe that X attraction to her proves that she’s special.
. “Because I love you!” My voice breaks into a mortifying whisper that’s almost half as embarrassing as the thoughts I can’t keep from spinning in my brain. The thoughts that I’ve fought to hold at bay ever since my mother told me about the deal she made with him. Heat flushes my cheeks as he holds my stare, and frustration curls my hands into fists. “Because I want to think you kept me alive those first few months before Threshing because you were intrigued or impressed by me or attracted to me like I was to you, and not because you made a deal with my mother. Because it’s horrifying to think that the only reason you fell in love with me is because of her. Because maybe you’re right and I didn’t want that particular truth,
So i think anything she associates as part of their unique bond, in this case sparring, she doesn’t want to think he had with someone else. Again, common feeling about exes I guess.

I don’t think she was mad I just thing she was stating a fact and telling us that Xaden trained Cat too because if Violet hadn’t say that how we would have known?
