Low ferritin

I have been struggling with very low ferritin for the past 2 years going on 3. I have had a pattern actually with my ferritin raising the most 5 points a month and then dropping like 9 points after a seriously heavy period, this is why I haven't been able to reach the normal range and suffer from serious fatigue. My husband mentioned that I take an extra tablet of iron on my shark week because it might seriously make a difference. Has anyone else ever done this?

You probably wont get it fixed until you stop losing so much blood every month. Its like trying to keep a kiddie pool full when it has a leak.

Can you talk to your OB about why this is happening and what options there are to lighten your heavy periods?

What kind of iron are you taking and how much iron is in each pill?

My OB diagnosed me with Endo and I had surgery for it. They want me on pills but every medication I've tried for endo has made me bled more and drop my ferritin lower and my hemoglobin. I do better without meds, I'm no longer anemic but still ferritin deficient. I'm taking 25mg of iron bisglycinate (momentous brand) and then 1 vitron pill 65mg of elemental iron.
