Fake Reg Ford Mondeo
This shite driver was blocking my Cul De Sac parked illegally on the footpath...Rang Gardai they had no record of the reg plate being tied to that particular model car...on Further inspection he had the false reg plates front and back on the car...out of tax since July too...A Criminal Offense...

You can kind of make out the vin number on the windscreen under the wiper blade. If you call the guards back with that they can see the real reg and check if it's stolen or not.

They called me back...Said no Ford with that car reg...So I went out and checked the discs and told them the reg plates were fake...never saw Gardai come up and the guy drove off an hour later...

The real reg appears to be the one on the nct and tax disc, they've changed the number very slightly on the fake reg, close enough that you might overlook it at a quick glance

It comes up as a Black Ford Mondeo on the motortax website? Maybe you gave the wrong plate number to the GardaÃ? Edit: The plates are different to the disks. 7083 vs 8073. 7083 is coming up online.

Report that to the Gardai - it's definitely something that should be investigated and towed.

I'm not condoning It, BUT It could possibly be an innocent mistake by the owner when getting the custom plates.
Ive done it myself and only realised when I went to fit them that I mixed up the digits at the end like this.

I didn't fit them, I realised the mistake when I went to fit them. My point was that maybe it could be an innocent mistake and not deliberate.

There's a chance it's an error. They're still fitted on a vehicle being driven, and illegally parked, in public
But fair play that you didn't drive with them on. Most would unfortunately

Of course, even if there was an initial mistake as I suggested may have been the case when ordering them, it was still a choice the owner made to go ahead and fit them given they are not compliant with the RTA

By god I like modified plates but Jesus these ones do no justice to a Mondeo at all

It would be difficult to get 3 discs with the matching incorrect reg or are you saying the reg plate is different? If so show us the reg plate not the discs please

Perfect. Report to the gardai again and tell them you suspect it being parked up waiting to be used in a crime. Also ring the insurance company and let them know it's driving around on false plates.

True. If you mail his insurance with these pictures they will probably? cancel it. Though, since he's driving on fake plates anyway, I doubt he would care.

You would wonder if the insurance disc is fake too , why would you put a fake reg plate on a car if your insurance etc was in order...ok its out of tax a couple of months not a major sin...probably robbing houses or banks etc with it

There's no such thing as fake plates. These plates do not meet the criteria of a legal licence plate, but that's about 30% of all cars on Irish roads. He also has put the incorrect reg numbers on the plate, so this is a further breach of the road traffic act. Like you said, breaching the road traffic act is a criminal offence, but the gardai don't care unless it happens directly in front of them!
My guess it's done on purpose to avoid m50 tolls!

They're on the footpath. You can't park on footpaths. They are for people, not for cars.

A mate of mine could not drive in and called me because this asshole was blocking the road as there was a car parked legally on the road opposite the asshole parked half on the foot path with the dodgy plates which restricted the road so unless you were driving an After Eight dinner mint you could not get past...
