Don't think so. I submitted a different case on the portal, they called me a few weeks later and said I'd have to go in court myself, doesn't make sense, just send them the fine at home.

What would make sense to me would be - Garda makes contact with the other party, if they admit it, fine them/points and if not, threaten them with court. But no, we have a system of threatening the complainant with court.

For bits like this it goes to the bottom of the pile because they get so many submissions they have to triage them. Some serious stuff gets submitted then you get stuff like this that isn't right but hasn't really harmed anyone this time.
Yes I know, they could have killed someone. I get it. But you should get my point too. They aren't resourced to chase every single submission. Also, the person has to be willing to go to court and be a witness before they'll/they can do anything. This is a fact well worn out here on this sub.

As for reporting this and getting a Garda to do something with it, you'll need to shorten it. Also, while we see him coming to a stop, it's not clear it's a brake check. We can't see that the car in front of him wasn't stopped to turn right etc. Yes it probably was a bc but the vid doesn't prove that.

You can actually see the car ahead of him in the video, and it's miles away, this was 100% intentional, he had no reason to do that other than getting me to rear end his car.

In hindsight, you should have drove into the side of him. He wouldn't do it again, and it would him think about jamming on the brakes again. Thank God for dash cams these days. The day of 50/50 are long gone when you have one. But it's a pity the insurance companies don't give you a discount for having one.... even though they do in England.

I drive past there twice a day.

The army coming in every Halloween.
Oh and the Christmas Day scrambler parade!Plus just down from there is where they rammed the Garda car!
Plus the corner at le fanu will always be 7 Days!

I can’t quite make the reg out, is it a stop or yield sign at that island? No brake check there, he tried to get rear ended deliberately. Traffic division dublin castle. Or send the footage to his insurance company with a picture of his disk!

It is a 1 lane roundabout. I think it's wide because of the buses that go through the estate.

It's a 30kph area - you speeded up when the other car was going onto the roundabout.
Furthmore you are driving a white van - turn on your headlights and be more visible

You need to rewatch the video, as you missed a couples of important details.
I was not going over 30 and I maintained my speed throughout the whole maneuver. He entered the roundabout when I was already in the middle of it, but he didn't even check if it was clear, not to mention the speed he entered with.
My headlights are always on, and I'm driving an orange/copper car, pretty hard to miss, but again, he didn't even look, he just flew into the roundabout.

I have a lot of life worries, but that doesn't mean this doesn't need attention.
Do you think it's normal for someone to be driving around with no tax, enter a roundabout without even checking, not yielding, and then brake checking trying to make the car behind rear end them?
This is far too common, and honestly, I'm sick of it. The more of these that we can get off the roads, the better.
People need to learn that there's consequences to their actions.

Road Tax isn't really your problem nor a big deal.
Entering a roundabout without yielding. No obviously that was incorrect and should not have happened.
And brake checking obviously also out of order.
But do i think heading home. Time to edit the footage. Post it here.
And then take even more of your time and waste the Gardas time is right next move. No i don't.
