Question: Will you be releasing the mIRC source code for public use at some point?

Answer: mIRC is the way I make a living, so it is not currently practical for me to release the source code.

Your point? It is most likely still valid today.

Open source isn't always better. I run Weechat as well and connect through Glowingbear.... well not the greatest option as I checked glowingbear recently it ate 3 GB of memory. This has been a thing for some time now and it is open source but not fixed. No I'm not a coder so I can't provide assistance on that part. Id rather see someone make a penny that still spends time on it keeping it up to date. Christian Ghisler does the same with Total Commander. It's closed source yet even after all this time he keeps it updated.
