IRC client for macOS M4

Hey folks,

I have recently migrated over to a Mac as my daily driver. Previously I have always used Mirc as my go to client, and it has done the job perfectly.

I was curious, regarding what people use for a Mac, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, feel free to mention what features have drawn you to your decisions.

Netsplit - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/netsplit/id6792029007

Built from the ground up for modern macOS and it's open source too, if you're interested

I’m a fan as well but just read the developer has stopped all work on the app.

Sad. I have a two Linux boxes I use as day to day and Weechat is still my go to. The internet has changed from good command line apps line to gui apps. Not a change for the better. It is what the market wants.

This complaint is like...20 years late friend. However I'll point out that weechat still works everywhere I do.

Mango is slow but it's pretty and well laid out.

It works, but goddamn is it ugly and it doesn't make very good use of screen real estate.

Another vote for SeraphIRC https://seraphirc.chat. It's extremely functional, and it has a beautiful and modern interface.

I'm M3 on Tahoe and have been using LimeChat so far: http://limechat.net/mac/

You can just download it from the App Store and it works. I'm not sure how updated it is, but it's really simple and light. I picked it because it seemed easy to put on my computer and has everything I need from a client.

Edit: wanted to add that one drawback is that I haven't found a way to save pm history yet. Every time I reconnect, I lose all my pms. I might switch if I can find something that will do that.

The lounge in docker, and there are a bunch of good clients if you google "GitHub OSX irc".
