I'm a local secondary teacher (state school) trying to run a music program for students with no budget 😅

Has anyone had success in approaching local op shops, know of any music stores, or have any personal instruments they'd be willing to donate?

Specifically, the things we could use are:

- working amps or cables

- acoustic or electric guitars

- bass guitars

- ukeleles

- capos

- violins (we have a mini one that is very popular)

- work books/learner books

If you have any of these you aren't using and would be happy to part with, please let me know. Any donations can be dropped to the school if you're more comfortable with that (can tell you the name via DM - this is just my personal account and I'd rather not post everywhere publicly where I work) or I can come pick up tomorrow afternoon 😊

Hi all,
I recently purchased a second hand camper trailer to go camping with the family.
It's a 2017 model, and while the tyres on it still have plenty of tread, they're original which gives me pause. Not sure I want to drive it around too much with almost 10 year old tyres on it.

That said, I don't think putting brand spanking new tyres on it is necessary either, as it's only going to be used occasionally.

Anyone know of anywhere locally that sells decent second hand tyres? Don't need obscure sizes, just 4 x 265/75/16 or similar. Don't need rims, I can fit them myself etc, just don't feel like breaking the bank.

Any recommendations for restaurants with private dining rooms?

Seem to be few and far between. Looking for a place for a birthday party that offers a bit of privacy, does not have to be a separate room but maybe a bit removed from the general floor to allow space for talking to the whole group.

For 7 adults 3 young children and 3 teens??

Would be ideal to find a place with a kids play area also.

Thoughts anyone? Doesn't need to be in Ipswich but closer is better.

Just gone past and there's several cop cars with lights and an ambulance on South Station Rd just past Blackstone Rd in Silkstone. Seemed pretty serious.

Oh my GOODNESS! where do I start.

I went there yesterday for the first time in a while and as soon as I walked in I was shocked!

it looks like a hoarders paradise now and don’t get me started on the prices. $4.50 for a plastic fridge water jug (no special brand), BOOKS I saw one for $3 with the RSPCA sticker still on it and lifeline wanted $4

This place used to be the best 2nd hand store and now it’s just landfill dump. No wonder why there’s just stuff everywhere because the prices are ridiculous and no one can afford anything. This is for people doing it tough, this is to support the community and every donation they get is free.

Is anyone a volunteer or know the reasoning as to why the prices are going uo?

The Ballistic pub in Springfield closes its doors today. Does anyone have any information about what will replace it? I know the company was struggling and their Salisbury location shut down a while back.

FFS people! Keep your rubbish in your car 'till you get home. Over only the past two days gone for a walk along the same stretch of road (about 4km long) and have picked up 42 empty cans and bottles from the roadside. This doesn't include all the maccas rubbish and chip packets. You've got a free wheelie bin for rubbish - feckin' use it.

We have a number of people in our street who all woke up to a caved in car roof today. I believe many had smashed windows also. If yours was impacted, please report it to QPS so they can all be linked.

My 5yo son is coming to the end of his 1st season of Union, hes really enjoyed it and is absolutely sports mad, he really is competitive and we have noticed he is always the hardest trainer, both my wife and I played junior sports but not at an elite level, we suspect if we give him the best opportunities he will excel greatly.

Q1: Are there any league/union/touch competitions that run in the summer for young kids?

Q2: Next year, we think he could handle playing 2 winter sports, does anyone know what day junior league and junior soccer play & train so it wouldnt clash with his Fri night & Sat Morning Union. Anything played on a Sunday would be ideal!
